White Oak Medical Center seeks to hire a Nurse Practitioner to work with our inpatient neurology patients who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

The inpatient neurology service at Adventist HealthCare White Oak Medical Center manages all neurology consultations for the hospital and the Rehabilitation Hospital.

As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner you will:
• Conduct daily rounds on patients for whom an initial neurology consultation has been completed.
• Prepare comprehensive progress notes that include subjective updates and 24-hour events, objective findings, assessment, and recommendations in consultation with the supervising neurologist. Maintain ongoing communication with the on-call supervising neurologist regarding any changes in a patient's clinical status.
• Order medications, laboratory studies, and imaging as clinically appropriate following discussion with the on-call supervising neurologist.
• Be responsible for managing follow-up visits for approximately 7-10 adult inpatients per day You will working directly with the neurohospitalist who is scheduled to cover the hospital that week

Qualifications include:
• Master's degree in Adult or Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner program.
• Ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience working in an inpatient environment.
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Board Certification in specific specialty
• Excellent written and verbal skills
• Ability to work well on a multi-disciplinary team
• Excellent interpersonal relationship skills
• Excellent skills in maintaining highly confidential information
• Skilled in compiling clinical documentation in a timely manner
• Experience working with an electronic medical record preferred

Work Schedule:

Monday-Friday, four ten hour day shifts

Pay Range:
$96,058.56 - $145,995.20
If the salary range is listed as $0 or if the position is Per Diem (with a fixed rate), salary discussions will take place during the screening process.

Under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), this position is classified as:
United States of America (Exempt)
