Qualifications

Responsibilities

Join the Parkview Neuro-Hospitalist APP Team!

The PPG Neurosciences team is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Neurology/Neurohospitalist team of physicians and APPs to serve our patients with diverse neurologic needs within the communities we serve. An interested candidate should have the ability to collaborate with intra-interdepartmental team members as well as community organizations or members. A qualified candidate would have the ability to multitask and utilize critical thinking skills to best serve our patients.

Schedule and Responsibilities
  • Monday-Friday - with dedicated IP Neurohospitalist rounds in the AM, and OP Neurology clinic follow up in the PM. IP post-discharge follow up patients will be primary focus for the PM role, with additional defined populations
  • Work location at PRMC
  • Hands-on orientation with structure to support core competencies, clinical skills, consulting structure and documentation guidelines

Job Requirements for Nurse Practitioner
  • Graduate of an accredited Master of Science in Nursing program (DNP optional)
  • Current or pending state license for Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
  • Current or pending certification by an approved professional certification organization
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as an APP preferred.


Job Requirements for Physician Assistant
  • Graduate of a Masters' degree program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant Program (ARC-PA).
  • Current or pending state license
  • Current or pending certification by an approved professional certification organization
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Physician Assistant preferred.


Certifications as required by specialty which may be but are not limited to:
  • BLS through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Will need core stroke competencies, along with NIH training.
