Overview

i3 is seeking a creative and driven Infrastructure Manager with a passion for solving real world issues on a cross-functional, fast paced team. Candidate will be responsible for working closely with the system administrators and end users to properly design and maintain the network. Candidate should have a strong background in Red Hat Linux, Windows Server or Cisco networking.  

 

As the infrastructure manager your role is to ensure the stability, integrity and efficiency of the in-house network that supports an Army network. The Infrastructure Manager will apply communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve issues to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments while leading a team of systems administrators and network engineers.

Responsibilities
  • Develops, manages, and leads a team of Systems Administrators by providing advice, guidance, learning opportunities, feedback, and training. 
  • Provide technical expertise supporting information system components, infrastructure integration and maintenance to satisfy system security requirements for several stakeholders. i.e. ZTA, MFA, implementing policies and procedures for best practices.  
  • Provide direct customer service and technical support to local and remote users as required via phone, e-mail, on-line systems and in person.  
  • Configure information technology infrastructure in accordance with best practices and DISA STIGs.  
  • Maintains the integrity and security of servers and systems applicable to the compliance of RMF accreditation packages.  
  • Monitor, evaluate, and maintain systems and procedures to safeguard information systems, networks and databases.  
  • Install software, updates, patches and upgrades.   
  • Understanding of software configuration management, build, deployment and release management, application lifecycle management, infrastructure, and DevSecOps tools and processes.   
  • Have a customer centric approach and provide all levels of support for the technical and cyber team as well as the user base community.   
  • Coordinate OS, middleware, and database patching.   
  • Notify affected teams of the upgrade and patching activities.   
  • Similarly, work with application teams to identify server needs for new applications.   
  • Provides advice and training to end-users and provides mentorship to junior team members.  
  • Other duties as assigned.  
Qualifications

Education/Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related technical field. Additional experience may substitute for degree.   
  • 10-15 years of relevant experience.  
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Active Secret clearance required to start. Must be able to maintain the security clearance required for this position.
  • Prior experience as a Systems Administrator.   
  • Working knowledge of current systems and applications.  
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve software and hardware conflicts.  
  • Be able to quickly adapt to new situations, have a strong commitment to a team environment, maintain a capacity to work with little supervision, and the willingness to learn new technologies.  
  • Experience with storage, backup and disaster recovery technologies.  
  • MS Windows server installation/configuration experience.   
    • Group Policy / Active Directory configuration and management.  
    • Experience with PowerShell.      
    • Knowledge of O365, SharePoint, and Azure.   
  • Certifications:
    • Required: CompTIA Security+ CE
    • Preferred: CCNA, RHCSA,  Microsoft O/S cert.
