Full Job Description
Position Summary The Patient Care Infrastructure and Communications Engineer performs system design, operational support and maintenance for multiple large, distributed patient care infrastructure systems, applications; nursecall system, critical alert and notification systems, staff safety and real-time location services (RTLS) systems, contact center (CCaaS) system and other patient care communication systems. This role is responsible for advancing continuous improvements in metrics related to availability, reliability, quality and efficiency in service restoration, resource provisioning and time-to-production. Measures and optimizes system performance to advance our capabilities, get ahead of customer needs and continuously innovate. Documents actions and problem resolutions so findings can be turned into repeatable solutions that can be automated. Collaborates, mentors and shares knowledge of advanced skills, complex processes with other staff. Troubleshoots and debugs issues across various business and IT services and associated systems and applications. Participates in governance processes and programs such as project management, change management, incident management, project management and on-call activities. Experience: *Experience working in Microsoft Office365 environment is required. *Experience working within a ServiceNow incident management (ticket) environment is desired. *Experience working with and supporting Nurse Call systems like Rauland Responder Nurse Call and Overhead Announcement / Intercom systems is preferred. *Experience working with and supporting Staff Safety systems like PinPoint is preferred. *Experience working with and supporting Critical Event Management systems like Everbridge is preferred. *Experience working with and supporting Real-Time Location Systems (RTLS) like Stanley, Centrak is desired. *Experience working with and supporting modern Contact Center solutions like Avaya, TalkDesk or NICE InContact is preferred. *Experience working with and supporting Clinical Communications and Collaboration systems like Cerner CareAware, PerfectServe Telmediq and/or Vocera is preferred. *Experience working with and supporting enterprise paging systems like Spok and Code Blue is preferred. *Experience with infrastructure observability, logging, monitoring and tracing platforms is preferred. *Experience with disaster recovery architectures, high availability, redundancy, failover/failback processes, backup solutions, etc. is preferred. *Experience managing vendor relationships is desired. *Experience collaborating on procurement and contract negotiations is desired. *Experience working in a Healthcare environment is desired. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: *Strong technical knowledge of enterprise hardware and software systems for integrations, communication routing, automated messaging, patient nurse call and security workflows. *Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. *Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. *Strong written and verbal communication skills. *Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings. *Ability to present ideas in human-readable, audience appropriate language. *Strong technical documentation creation skills. *Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. *Willingness to work scheduled on-call hours as part of team rotation. *Commits to continuous learning/improvement in diversity, inclusion and cultural competence.
