Full Job Description
General Purpose:

The Change & Release Manager is responsible for governing enterprise change enablement and release management processes to ensure stable, compliant, and efficient delivery of technology services.

This role oversees risk-based change governance, release coordination, deployment planning, and continuous process improvement aligned with ITIL best practices. The position partners cross-functionally with engineering, operations, QA, security, and business stakeholders to minimize service disruption while enabling timely and successful production outcomes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Own and govern the enterprise Change Enablement process aligned with ITIL best practices.
    * Define and enforce change management policies, risk classification standards, and approval processes.
    * Review and authorize normal, expedited, and emergency changes based on risk, impact, readiness, and business priorities.
    * Ensure compliance with regulatory, audit, and SOX requirements through documented and traceable controls.
    * Maintain segregation of duties and ensure audit readiness across change and release activities.
    * Chair or facilitate Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings to support risk-based decision making.
    * Lead post-implementation reviews and drive continuous improvement of change success rates and operational stability.
    * Own release planning, scheduling, and coordination across infrastructure, applications, and platform teams.
    * Establish and maintain release calendars, deployment windows, blackout periods, and production schedules.
    * Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, QA, operations, security, and business stakeholders to ensure release readiness.
    * Ensure releases include validated testing, rollback planning, dependency management, and production support readiness.
    * Govern release communications and ensure stakeholder visibility throughout the release lifecycle.
    * Oversee CI/CD pipeline integration and support automation maturity initiatives.
    * Accountable for successful production deployments with minimized customer and operational impact.
    * Define, monitor, and report on KPIs including change success rate, release velocity, failure rate, and mean time to restore (MTTR).
    * Provide reporting, analysis, and operational insights to leadership regarding change and release performance.
    * Identify process improvement opportunities and drive optimization initiatives across change and release management practices.
    * Ensure alignment between release execution activities and business objectives and priorities.
    * Own and optimize ITSM and release management tooling including platforms such as ServiceNow and CI/CD solutions.
    * Ensure data integrity, auditability, and process standardization across supported tools and platforms.


Other Responsibilities:
  • Support incident, problem, and operational readiness activities as needed during major releases or emergency changes.
    * Participate in after-hours or weekend release activities when required to support business operations.
    * Collaborate with internal and external audit teams to support compliance reviews and evidence requests.
    * Drive adoption of automation, standardization, and operational best practices across technology teams.
    * Travel may be required on an as-needed basis.
