**This Position is Contingent on Contract Award**

Description:

Columbia Technology Partners is seeking an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to support the design, development, implementation, integration, and assessment of secure information systems and architectures. The ideal candidate will apply systems security engineering expertise throughout the system lifecycle, ensuring information assurance, risk management, security compliance, and secure system design for networking, computing, and enclave environments. This role supports security assessments, architecture development, authorization activities, and the implementation of trusted and secure solutions while working closely with engineers, architects, customers, and government stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities - ISSE Level 2:

  • Perform and review technical security assessments to identify vulnerabilities, compliance gaps, and security risks.
  • Validate system security requirements and establish security designs that align with mission and compliance objectives.
  • Design, develop, implement, and integrate Information Assurance (IA) architectures, systems, and security components.
  • Participate as a security engineering representative on engineering teams supporting secure networking, computing, and enclave environments.
  • Support security planning, assessment, risk analysis, and risk management activities.
  • Support system authorization activities in accordance with NISCAP, DoD RMF, NIST RMF, and applicable security engineering processes.
  • Review certification and accreditation documentation for completeness and compliance.
  • Assist in the implementation of trusted relationships among external systems and architectures.
  • Recommend system-level solutions to address security requirements and improve overall security posture.
  • Collaborate with system engineers, architects, customers, and program stakeholders to integrate security requirements throughout the system lifecycle.


Additional Responsibilities - ISSE Level 3:

In addition to the responsibilities above, ISSE Level 3 candidates will:
  • Serve as the primary security engineering representative on engineering teams supporting secure networking, computing, and enclave environments.
  • Lead the design, development, implementation, evaluation, and integration of IA architectures and security solutions.
  • Provide expert guidance, mentorship, and work product evaluation for junior and mid-level security engineers.
  • Advise customers, technical staff, and senior leadership on Information Assurance objectives, security architecture, and risk management strategies.
  • Advocate for and recommend enterprise-level security solutions to complex technical and operational challenges.
  • Support the Government in ensuring information system architectures are secure, functional, and compliant across program-of-record and specialized environments.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and recommend improvements to Information Assurance policies, processes, and security engineering practices.
  • Lead security efforts involving multi-enclave architectures and systems with varying classification and data protection requirements.


Qualifications - ISSE Level 2:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Systems Security Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Fourteen (14) years of experience as an Information Systems Security Engineer supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Four (4) additional years of ISSE experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • CISSP certification required.


Qualifications - ISSE Level 3:

In addition to the qualifications above, ISSE Level 3 candidates must possess:
  • Twenty (20) years of experience as an Information Systems Security Engineer supporting programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Information Systems Security Engineering Professional (ISSEP) certification.
  • A Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Systems Security Engineering, or a related discipline may be substituted for two (2) years of experience for ISSE 3 candidates, reducing the experience requirement from twenty (20) years to eighteen (18) years.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) and multi-level security architectures.
  • Experience implementing cryptographic solutions utilizing COTS and GOTS technologies.
  • Knowledge of intrusion detection, incident response, auditing, configuration management, and change management processes.
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise security architectures within mission-focused environments.
  • Experience working through the full security engineering lifecycle from requirements development through operational deployment and sustainment.
