Summary

You will serve as an INFORMATION SECURITY SPECIALIST in the Information and Acquisition Protection (IAP) Division of OFFICE OF THE DEPUTY UNDER SECRETARY OF THE NAVY, SECURITY DIRECTORATE.

• You will interpret Executive Orders, national regulations, and laws to effectively implement classification management within the DON Information Security Program, to include controlled unclassified information (CUI) and operations security (OPSEC).
• You will advise Original Classification Authorities (OCAs), project engineers, program managers, command mission leads, action officers, and affected operational officers regarding their responsibilities for proper classification management.
• You will develop and implement DON information security policies, including CUI and OPSEC, providing authoritative guidance for the DON Information Security Program.
• You will oversee the development and rescission of Security Classification Guides (SCGs) and declassification guides, establishing and disestablishing Alternative Compensatory Control Measures (ACCM) and manage mandatory classification reporting.
• You will provide technical advice, training, and assistance to OCAs, program managers, and activity security managers to ensure seamless integration with broader security programs.

• A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
• This is a Security Professional Educational Development (SPeD) position and requires DoD certification. Selectee must obtain and maintain the following certification within 24 months: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC)
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

• Supporting Information OPSEC programs by developing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating policy, governance, and strategic initiatives to ensure compliance with Executive Orders and Federal regulations.
• Supporting enterprise classification management and OPSEC programs by developing, coordinating, and overseeing items such as Security Classification Guides (SCGs) and/or Critical Information and Indicators Lists (CIILs).
• Providing technical security guidance and program oversight to senior leaders, Headquarters staff, and subordinate organizations.
• Supporting enterprise-wide security governance through the coordination of compliance assessments, program evaluations, policy implementation, and cross-functional initiatives.
