SUMMARYThe
Information Assurance / Cybersecurity supports the customer by performing assessments of systems and networks within the networking environment or enclave and identifies where those systems/networks deviate from acceptable configurations, enclave policy, or local policy. Must be able to apply extensive technical expertise and has full knowledge of other related disciplines. Work is performed without appreciable direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Completed work is reviewed from a relatively long- term perspective, for desired results. Guides the successful completion of major programs and may function in a project leadership role.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS The ability to obtain, maintain and access classified information at the DoD Secret level.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Manages the RMF process, including generating artifacts for eMASS to obtain and maintain Authorities to Operate (ATO).
Monitors IAVAs and STIG compliance for virtual reality simulators. Provides technical justifications to the Authorizing Official (AO) when security updates might negatively impact simulator performance/fidelity.
Conducts vulnerability scans and independent assessments of simulator software code to integrate required security characteristics into the performance objectives.
Assists in the engineering of secure interfaces between virtual training environments and tactical logistics networks.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of three to ten (3-10) years of experience in systems security, or equivalent combination of education/experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Regularly required to sit. Regularly required use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms to handle objects and operate tools, computer, and/or controls. Required to speak and hear. Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic.
