Full Job Description
SUMMARY

The Infection Control Manager (also referred to as the Infection Preventionist) possesses knowledge of hospital epidemiology principles and is responsible for the coordination of the hospital-wide Infection Control Program. This position is responsible for the surveillance, analysis, interpretation and reporting of hospital acquired infections (HAIs), infection prevention education, and the development of organizational policies and procedures to insure rigorous infection control standards that meet Joint Commission (TJC), California Department of Public Health (CDPH), Centers for Medicaid/Medicare Services (CMS), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and other local, state and national authorities recommendations and requirements. In collaboration with the Hospital Epidemiologist and Pharmacist, the Infection Control Manager supports and acts as a resource to hospital administration, medical staff, board of directors and all organizational departments.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Bachelors' degree preferred or three to five years experience in the clinical health care field.
