Role: Test/Industrial Engineer

Location: Fairport, NY

Your Impact

As a Test / Industrial Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring Qualitrol's products are manufactured with the highest levels of quality, reliability, and efficiency. You will develop and optimize manufacturing test systems, production processes, and continuous improvement initiatives that support the delivery of industry-leading monitoring and protection solutions for critical electrical infrastructure. Working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations, you will drive improvements in manufacturability, testability, productivity, and operational excellence while supporting new product introductions and sustaining existing product lines.

Here's Where You'll Demonstrate Your Proficiency
  • Design, develop, validate, and maintain manufacturing test processes, fixtures, and automated test equipment.
  • Develop manufacturing processes, work instructions, and standard operating procedures for new and existing products.
  • Analyze production workflows and implement process improvements that increase productivity, reduce waste, and improve quality.
  • Perform time studies, capacity analysis, line balancing, and ergonomic assessments to optimize manufacturing operations.
  • Support new product introduction by ensuring products are manufacturable and testable.
  • Investigate production and test failures using root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Partner with Quality to support CAPA, PFMEA, control plans, and process validation activities.
  • Develop and track KPIs related to yield, throughput, cycle time, and equipment effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with design engineering to improve product design for manufacturability and testability.
  • Support equipment selection, installation, qualification, and preventive maintenance.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation including process flows, test procedures, and manufacturing instructions.
  • Leverage AI-enabled tools where appropriate to improve engineering analysis, documentation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.

The Successful Candidate Will Demonstrate the Following Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, test engineering, or process engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience developing manufacturing test systems, fixtures, and production processes.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with statistical analysis, root cause analysis, and process capability studies.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, automation, data acquisition systems, or manufacturing software is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Experience using ERP/MES systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Exposure to AI tools and technologies to improve engineering workflows, documentation, testing, and data analysis.

Pay Range
The salary range for this position (in local currency) is 83400.00-155000.00
