Position Brand Description:Lilly operates a new state of the art Parenteral, Device Assembly, and Packaging Facility located at the Research Triangle Park (RTP) in North Carolina. This is an exciting opportunity to manage all aspects of the Industrial Hygiene program.
The Industrial Hygiene (IH) Specialist will be responsible for the development and technical support of all IH related programs at the RTP site and work closely with multiple internal and corporate stakeholders. Responsibilities will include but not limited to: regulatory, best practice, and corporate IH compliance, coordination of all IH activities, IH studies and action plan execution, and influencing business and strategic planning.
The IH Specialist provides coaching to the organization to ensure a high level of industrial hygiene and chemical hazard protection for employees.
Responsibilities:- Engage site resources in achieving an IH compliant workplace
- Develop, establish, and sustain IH programs for the RTP site to support the compliance with internal and external requirements
- Develop and establish IH best practices for RTP and provide ongoing technical support
- Provide support for all IH activities at the RTP site
- Understand and support the HSE event, CAPA and change control processes, and influence application of the hierarchy of controls to reduce risk, driving toward site and company goals to achieve an injury & illness workplace
- Cross train within the HSE team to support Health and Safety goals
- Leverage knowledge of severe incident risk to influence minimization of potential events and increase awareness/knowledge among site resources
- Provide front line IH support for the site
Basic Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree required in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational/Environmental Health, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or related field
- Experience in industrial hygiene, occupational health and safety, or environmental health and safety (EHS)
- Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Lilly will not provide support for or sponsor work authorization or visas for this role, including but not limited to F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, F-1 STEM OPT, J-1, H-1B, TN, O-1, E-3, H-1B1, or L-1.
Additional Preferences:- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
- Strong regulatory and research knowledge
- Experience with CAPA system for addressing changes and deviations
- Demonstrated technical leadership skills
- Strong communication and computer skills required
- GMP operational experience
Additional Information:- Role is Monday through Friday based. Must be flexible in providing support to accommodate other inputs (production schedules, shutdowns, etc.). Occasional extended hour and/or off-hour work may be required.
- Position will be based out of RTP site with ability to travel 0-10% to Indianapolis and other global Lilly sites.
Actual compensation will depend on a candidate's education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$66,000 - $148,500
