JOB DESCRIPTION:

Purpose: Andersen Corporation is seeking an Industrial Engineer at our Bayport, MN location. This position is responsible for providing Industrial Engineering support within our MIT team, by driving the process of continuous improvement and the design of integrated systems of people, equipment, & materials. The ideal candidate for this position is an innovative thinker and has a passion for operational excellence.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Identify, develop, and implement process improvement projects to enhance manufacturing efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
  • Utilize Effective Lean Process Design Techniques: Optimize overall manufacturing system performance by providing innovative solutions that integrate within the value stream.
  • Assess Current & Future Capacity Requirements: Utilize marketing forecasts, value stream mapping, and capacity planning methodologies to ensure adequate capacity.
  • Identify Areas of Opportunity: Analyze data and conduct thorough evaluations to pinpoint areas where operational efficiencies can be gained.
  • Identify Causes of Process Variation: Utilize the scientific method to identify causes of process variation and recommend corrective actions.
  • Implement Effective Material Flow Concepts: Develop and implement pull systems and parts presentation strategies to improve manufacturing productivity.
  • Rapidly Identify Current State: Quickly assess and document the current state of manufacturing processes to establish a baseline for improvements.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize data analytics to monitor performance metrics, identify trends, and drive decision-making processes.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, production, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure alignment and effective implementation of operational excellence initiatives.
  • Training and Development: Mentor and train team members on best practices, Lean manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Project Management: Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and alignment with company goals.
  • Problem Solving: Lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes to address operational challenges and drive sustainable improvements.
  • Innovation: Foster a culture of innovation by encouraging the adoption of new technologies and methodologies to enhance manufacturing capabilities.

Qualifications:
  • 4-year degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Engineering Technology
  • 5-10 years of Industrial Engineering experience
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage projects, and drive change within an organization.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities

PAY RANGE:
$90,039.00 - $139,561.00

PROFIT SHARING: In 2026 Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $3,600 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit Sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
