We are growing and adding an Industrial Engineer I - Manufacturing Operations position supporting our CNS (Communication, Navigation, and Surveillance) product lines in our Melbourne, FL facility.

In this role, you will make an impact by evaluating and solving everyday manufacturing problems related to design, process, and supplier issues for the manufacture of high-quality electronic assemblies. You will provide technical support to operations in the form of enabling and improving the flow of manufacturing utilizing the LEAN principles.

Our ideal candidate will be a curious self-starter with excellent teaming, communication, and relationship building abilities. The candidate will also have a passion for LEAN principles and processes and be eager to contribute to improved efficiency and productivity, and Test Yield.

You will make a significant contribution to developing, verifying, and sustaining assembly and test processes, test equipment, and test procedures that will be used in the manufacturing of new and existing

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Drive manufacturing process improvements across multiple assembly process steps.
  • Perform time studies to maintain standard timings used for operator productivity calculations, and to aid with staffing analyses.
  • Identify opportunities to remove waste from processes and reduce standard times.
  • Support Production Build Operators with immediate needs on Tooling and Processes to meet production schedule.
  • Utilize drafting/modeling SW to design and implement new fixtures for process improvement.
  • Develop and maintain Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEAs).
  • Analyze and understand factory needs and requirements.
  • Conduct Process Flow and line balancing analysis and drive improvements.
  • Develop tools that enable manufacturing or increase production rates.
  • Implement Procedure and process improvements based on safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Identify and address safety concerns.
  • Improving production facilities and equipment layouts.
  • Provide information to management as the status of equipment, manpower, space and other elements affecting manufacturing.
  • Identify needs for capital expenses and provide cost/benefit analysis and business need.


WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:
  • Enhance your technical skills for the entire product assembly and test process, board level through top-level assemblies.
  • Improve & Maintain SOP and Test documentation for current configuration and oversee accurate change management procedures for all MFG documents.
  • Gain practical experience with Lean Manufacturing
  • Enhance your skill with Learn MFG Flow optimization, Line balancing and OEE.


QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE:
  • Typically requires a University Degree and less than 2 years prior relevant experience or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience

  • Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience using analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively identify and resolve issues and mitigate risks.
