Job Title: Industrial Automation Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking an Industrial Automation Engineer to design, develop, implement, and maintain industrial automation systems that improve manufacturing efficiency, productivity, quality, and operational reliability. The ideal candidate will have expertise in PLC programming, SCADA, HMI, Distributed Control Systems (DCS), industrial robotics, Industrial IoT (IIoT), and AI-enabled automation technologies. This role collaborates with manufacturing, operations, electrical, mechanical, robotics, and software engineering teams to deliver safe, scalable, and intelligent automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement industrial automation solutions for manufacturing and process industries.
  • Program, configure, and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), SCADA systems, and Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
  • Develop automation logic for production lines, material handling systems, robotic cells, and process control applications.
  • Integrate industrial robots, sensors, actuators, vision systems, and edge devices into automated production environments.
  • Design and implement Industrial IoT (IIoT) solutions for real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, and operational analytics.
  • Develop interfaces between automation systems and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and industrial databases.
  • Configure industrial communication protocols such as OPC UA, Modbus, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, PROFIBUS, CAN, and EtherCAT.
  • Implement AI, machine learning, and computer vision solutions for quality inspection, predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, and process optimization.
  • Perform Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning, validation, and startup support.
  • Monitor automation system performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and control system issues.
  • Prepare technical documentation, control narratives, electrical drawings, operating procedures, and maintenance documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with industrial safety, cybersecurity, and regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, Automation Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial automation, control systems, or manufacturing automation.
  • Experience programming PLCs such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley (Rockwell Automation), Schneider Electric, Mitsubishi Electric, Omron, or Beckhoff.
  • Experience with SCADA platforms, HMI development, and industrial networking.
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols and fieldbus technologies.
  • Strong understanding of electrical control systems, sensors, actuators, motors, and drives.
  • Experience with industrial robotics integration.
  • Familiarity with Python, C#, or other programming languages for automation and integration.
  • Experience with SQL databases and industrial reporting systems.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience implementing Industry 4.0 and Industrial IoT (IIoT) solutions.
