Mining Production Engineer

The place of work is in Nunavik

The normal work schedule is on a rotation of 4 weeks: 2 weeks worked (77 hours per week, 7 days a week) followed by 2 weeks of rest.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chief Mining Engineer, the Mining Production Engineer is responsible for:
  • Responsible for planning, organizing, designing and monitoring underground and open-pit mining operations;
  • Develop mining cycles in continuous improvement;
  • Plan and progress the work according to plans and specifications, in the short and medium term;
  • Coordinate interactions between the engineering department, mining department, Environment and others;
  • Establish short-term production objectives in order to meet LOM targets;
  • Supervise the team of planners and surveyors and ensure the quality of the information provided;
  • Perform such other duties as his supervisor may deem necessary to ensure the efficient conduct of the Corporation's business;
  • Perform weekly and monthly progress reports on operations;
  • Monitor and plan orders for the various consumables required for operations.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in mining engineering;
  • Be a member in good standing of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec;
  • Hold a minimum of 3 years experience of job-related;
  • Have an excellent knowledge of mining planning in the short and medium term;
  • Experience in open pit and underground mine;
  • Experience in permafrost environment;
  • Possess skills in rock mechanics;
  • Good knowledge of the MS Office, and Deswik;
  • Hold FMTM 1 to 5 and 7;
  • Hold a valid driver's license.
