SUMMARY: To manage staff and daily imaging operations within several locations. He/she is expected to promote an efficient department/office which leads to positive patient experiences and fosters positive work relationships among all departments at the Center.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Supervises staff at assigned office locations.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the Director of Operations
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provides oversight and support to staff in multiple locations. Ensures performance evaluations are completed timely and accurately, and establishes performance goals and developmental plans to continue to promote ongoing professional development.
• Conveys courtesy, respect, enthusiasm and positive attitudes with patients, staff, medical staff and visitors. Function as departmental liaison with administration, medical staff, patient care services, external referring physicians and office staff, and other departments.
• Provide ongoing leadership and support to radiologists assigned to business unit.
• Supports leadership in activities including roll-out of operational and quality initiatives.
• Develops policies and procedures in conjunction with operations.
• Keep current regarding developments in professional/technical fields, taking leadership role internally and externally in providing patient and community education. Support research initiatives and operations if applicable.
• Monitors and analyzes financial performance, including profitability and volume metrics. Implements appropriate changes to increase efficiencies, enhance revenue, and control expenses.
• Provides daily, weekly, and/or monthly reports to the Director of Operations or Administrative team
• Supervises and oversees budget development, including operational and capital budgets with attention to department and organizational program goals, established standards of performance, and economic constraints; Demonstrates creativity and initiative and focus on cost containment and operational effectiveness activities. Monitors operating statistics and patterns to identify trends and changes across the business unit.
• Establishes criteria for setting priorities; defining goals and objectives on selected initiatives in conjunction with the clinics priorities as well as the Imaging Service Center.
• Participates in developing a company culture of patient and staff satisfaction, empowerment, problem solving and accountability.
• Responsible for system imaging initiatives, projects, or management of programs as defined by the Imaging Service Center.
• Maintains departmental compliance with accrediting bodies and ensures all activities are carried out in compliance with organizational policy and local, state, and federal laws and regulations governing activities, organizational structures, management philosophy and mission and vision statements.
• Coordinates and facilitates student shadowing opportunities within the practice as needed
• Facilitates, with other management team members, resolution of any administrative problems and keeps lines of communication open, with staff and Director of Operations, to ensure high employee morale and a professional, healthy atmosphere. Interprets and enforces department and institution policies
• Other duties as assigned.
Education: Associates degree in radiology required. State certification. Registered with the ARRT.
Experience: Minimum two years supervisory experience in a health care setting.
Performance Requirements:
Knowledge:
1. Knowledge of Imaging procedures and protocols.
2. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform testing including body mechanics and patient movement.
3. Knowledge of equipment including safety hazards.
Skills:
1. Skill in positioning patients properly.
2. Skill in identifying equipment problems and correcting.
3. Skill in following infection control and safety procedures.
Abilities:
1. Ability to lift and position patients for the type of procedure required.
2. Ability to notice detail in drawings and differences in shapes and shadings.
3. Ability to apply written instructions and standardized work practices.
4. Ability to produce advanced spreadsheets and presentations. Proficient in Power Point and Excel.
5. Ability to present in executive and board meetings.
Equipment Operated: CT and Radiology equipment used for medical diagnosis and treatment.
Work Environment: Exposure to disease, radiation, and toxic chemicals in the course of performing the work. Occasional evening or weekend work. Routine travel to clinics under responsibility required.
Mental/Physical Requirements: Standing six to eight hours per day, walking, stooping, and bending. Requires ability to move equipment and transfer patients. Occasional stress when working with anxious patients.
