Full Job Description
The Role:

This role is the ILS Lead Engineer, who is responsible for the OMNIA ILS activities on behalf of the Configuring Service.

Reporting:

This position reports directly to the Configuring Service Lead.

Job Description:

Lead the delivery of REUK's Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) activities within the OMNIA ACTS programme, supporting Army Collective Training Service (ACTS) capabilities across Live, Virtual and Constructive (LVC) environments. The ILS Lead Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering REUK's allocated ILS workshare, ensuring that ILS activities, documentation and supportability outputs are developed to the required quality, schedule and engineering standards. The role provides technical leadership to ILS Engineers, while remaining hands-on in the development, review and assurance of ILS artefacts where required.

Working closely with OMNIA consortium partners, OEMs, Engineering teams, Delivery Teams and Army stakeholders, the role ensures REUK's ILS activities integrate effectively with the wider ACTS support solution. The role also coordinates and assures ILS activities delivered by REUK's subcontractors, ensuring applicable ILS requirements are understood, deliverables are reviewed, and subcontractor outputs are effectively integrated into REUK's overall ACTS ILS workshare.

The ILS Lead Engineer will support the introduction of new capabilities while maintaining effective support arrangements for legacy systems, applying evidence-based approaches to improve availability, maintainability and through-life support.

Success in this role requires an experienced and pragmatic ILS professional who can balance technical delivery with leadership responsibilities, coordinate across multiple stakeholders, and provide practical supportability solutions within a complex defence engineering environment.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE

Skills Required:
  • Integrated Logistic Support Leadership: Demonstrable experience leading ILS activities within complex engineering programmes, while remaining capable of producing, reviewing and assuring ILS deliverables directly.

  • Technical Leadership: Experience providing technical guidance, mentoring engineers or specialists, reviewing engineering outputs and supporting resolution of complex technical issues.
  • ILS Documentation and Deliverables: Experience developing and assuring ILS artefacts throughout acquisition, integration, service introduction and in-service support phases.
  • Supplier and Stakeholder Management: Experience working with customers, suppliers, OEMs and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate supportability activities and achieve agreed outcomes.
  • Supply Chain and Subcontractor Management: Experience coordinating ILS activities across suppliers and subcontractors, including requirement flow-down, review of deliverables and integration of supportability information into wider programme outputs.
  • Data-led Supportability: Experience using operational data, maintenance information or reliability trends to support evidence-based decisions relating to availability, maintainability and lifecycle support.
  • Change and Transition: Experience supporting the transition of new capabilities into service while maintaining effective support arrangements for existing systems.

Desirable:
  • Experience supporting military simulation within either Live, Virtual, and or Constructive (LVC) training systems.
  • Knowledge of Army training and support environments.
  • C2 system experience, such as Bowman, Sitaware and TAK.
  • Experience with Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) analysis, Logistic Support Analysis (LSA), or Level of Repair Analysis (LORA).
  • Knowledge of configuration management and technical publications.
  • Experience managing obsolescence within complex electronic systems.
  • Familiarity with cloud-hosted or hybrid training systems.
  • Working knowledge of IP networking and communications technologies sufficient to understand supportability impacts.
