Work Hours: 9:00 to 5:00/40-hour work week

Description:

We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented I-9 Compliance Specialist to support a high-visibility internal audit remediation project focused on I-9 compliance. This position will primarily involve the cleanup and correction of I-9 forms for active employees, alongside potential generalist HR support duties. The ideal candidate will be adept at data manipulation and will have strong communication skills, as they will work directly with managers, employees, and HR.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the internal audit remediation project involving I-9 compliance.
  • Review and correct I-9 forms (both paper and electronic) for active employees, focusing on identifying and resolving errors in Section 1 and Section 2.
  • Utilize Excel for data manipulation, including creating Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs, to manage and update records efficiently.
  • Navigate and conduct audits within the Fragomen Portal, ensuring all electronic I-9 documentation is accurate and audit-ready.
  • Handle employee Personal Private Information (PPIs), including passports, Social Security cards, and driver's licenses, with a strong emphasis on confidentiality.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with employees, managers, and HR personnel through email and verbal interactions to obtain missing or corrected information.

  • Experience at the HR generalist level or as an I-9 specialist within a large organization is preferred.
  • This role requires a candidate with sufficient technical ability and judgment to work independently and minimize the risk of errors.
