Reimagine What's Possible

Air Products is seeking an experienced Environmental Manager to serve as the environmental leader for our US HyCO (Hydrogen & Syngas) operations. In this highly visible role, you will set and drive environmental strategy, governance, and performance while ensuring full compliance with corporate, local, state, and federal environmental regulations. Reporting directly to the Regional HyCO Vice President & General Manager, this role provides the opportunity to influence environmental outcomes at a strategic level while supporting the safe, reliable, and sustainable operation of critical industrial assets. Typical travel will be approximately 25%, with periods of increased travel up to 50% based on site needs and business priorities.

Your leadership will play a key role in strengthening regulatory credibility, improving environmental performance, and supporting business growth aligned with the energy transition.

In addition to setting strategy, you will champion Air Products' environmental culture by partnering closely with Operations, Business, Engineering, and functional leadership teams. You will provide hands-on environmental leadership through training, site assessments, incident investigations, audits, and performance reviews, while driving continuous improvement initiatives that support operational excellence and compliance across multiple sites.

A critical aspect of this role is building and developing a high-performing environmental organization. You will actively identify and develop talent by understanding individual strengths, aligning capabilities with the right responsibilities, and coaching environmental professionals and site leaders. Through thoughtful resource management and prioritization, you will build a strong succession pipeline and ensure the team remains focused on the most impactful initiatives that support both near-term performance and long-term organizational capability.

  • Lead and drive environmental strategy aligned with Air Products' EHS Management System, regulatory requirements, and sustainability objectives.
  • Ensure full compliance with environmental regulations and Air Products standards, with a goal of zero environmental incidents.
  • Serve as the primary environmental authority for US HyCO operations, leading complex regulatory interactions with local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Provide environmental leadership through training, site assessments, incident investigations, audits, and performance reviews.
  • Develop and implement environmental risk management plans and KPI reporting across the HyCO sub-region.
  • Lead environmental incident trend analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support regulatory inspections, internal audits, and external EHS reviews.
  • Coach and mentor site leaders, operations teams, and environmental professionals; develop high-potential talent within the organization.
  • Support environmental due diligence and integration activities for acquisitions and business growth initiatives.
