Job Summary
Cyient, Inc. is seeking a highly experienced HW DO254 Certification Expert to lead and manage hardware certification activities for our aerospace and defense projects. This onsite role requires deep expertise in DO-254 standards and a proven track record of successful certification.
Job Responsibilities
* Lead and manage all aspects of hardware DO-254 certification for airborne electronic hardware, from planning through approval.
* Develop, review, and approve DO-254 certification plans, hardware development plans (HDP), verification and validation plans, and other associated life cycle data.
* Ensure compliance with DO-254 standards for all phases of the hardware development lifecycle, including requirements capture, design, implementation, verification, and configuration management.
* Conduct hardware design reviews, audits, and assessments to ensure adherence to DO-254 objectives and company processes.
* Interface directly with customers, regulatory authorities (e.g., FAA, EASA), and certification bodies to facilitate the certification process.
* Provide expert guidance and mentorship to engineering teams on DO-254 compliance best practices.
* Support the development and improvement of internal DO-254 processes and procedures.
* Prepare and present certification artifacts and reports to internal and external stakeholders.
Job Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
* 10+ years of experience in hardware development with a strong focus on DO-254 certification in the aerospace or defense industry.
* Demonstrable expert-level knowledge of DO-254 (Design Assurance Guidance for Airborne Electronic Hardware) and its application to complex hardware systems.
* Extensive experience with all DO-254 life cycle processes and objectives for various DALs (Design Assurance Levels).
* Proven experience successfully achieving DO-254 certification for multiple hardware programs.
* Strong understanding of hardware design, verification, and validation methodologies.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of an organization and external stakeholders.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
* Must be able to work onsite at our facilities.
* US Citizen or Permanent Resident required due to government contract requirements.
