HVAC Service Manager

In this role, you will lead a field-based service team, support strong customer relationships, and drive operational performance that balances service quality, team productivity, and financial results.
Role Overview

As a Service Manager, you will provide direction, site coordination support, and practical problem-solving for internal and external customers. You will oversee the day-to-day execution of a service portfolio, develop team members, and ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable state, local, and Federal requirements.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the service team to ensure productivity, consistency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Set and monitor goals for team growth, profitability, and overall service performance.
  • Drive Labor and Material growth, as well as maintenance agreement expansion for the service portfolio.
  • Develop and manage customer relationships through effective communication and issue resolution.
  • Prepare team financial forecasts and manage service spend against operational goals.
  • Use key performance metrics to improve operational excellence and accountability.
  • Maintain appropriate staffing levels through labor forecasting, planning, and management.
  • Work with direct reports and Technical Team Leads to build effective training and development plans.
  • Communicate clear performance expectations and complete performance reviews for direct reports.
  • Take responsibility for safety performance and program compliance.
  • Support all other management activities tied to key metrics, programs, and established operational disciplines.

  • Stay close to the work and remove obstacles quickly. Regular communication with technicians, team leads, and customers will help you resolve issues before they grow.

  • Balance customer satisfaction with financial discipline by managing forecasts, spend, staffing, and service execution together.
  • Set expectations clearly, coach consistently, and help employees grow through practical development plans and performance feedback.
Qualifications
  • University degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8 years of relevant experience in service, operations, HVAC, or a related technical environment.
  • Proven experience leading a team with responsibility for productivity, customer satisfaction, and financial results.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize changing demands.
  • Experience managing budgets, forecasting, staffing, and key operational metrics.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team while handling a high volume of tasks with tact and persistence.
  • Knowledge of applicable state, local, and Federal legal and compliance requirements related to service operations.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, equipment, and/or digital building automation controls.
  • Experience managing a P&L, forecasting, utilization of metrics, costing principles, and contracting.
Nice to Have
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or business.
  • 1-2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Strong computer skills in a Microsoft Office environment.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: 112,100.00 - 160k USD Annual. (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
