Full Job Description
Blue Mountain Construction Services in Vacaville, CA, has an Immediate opening for an Experienced Area Supervisor.

JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for and oversees the distribution of work, the development of HVAC employees and hands on experience in all aspects of the installation of HVAC, gutters and roof metal.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Incumbent must have the skills, ability, and judgment to perform the following essential job duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Coordinates and supervises all HVAC activities.
  • Orders materials and schedules inspections as necessary throughout the entire project timeline.
  • Understands the project plans and specifications.
  • Maintains and adjusts the project schedule on a weekly basis. This includes forecasting and identifying problems and determining the best solution possible.
  • Handles employee-related duties including maintaining employee work records, including information on absenteeism and job performance
  • Coordinates deliveries to jobs sites
  • Fabrication review and layouts
  • Scheduling and approval of employee time off and time sheets for payroll purposes
  • Creates and maintains an environment that values safety, health and cleanliness.
  • Ensuring all aspects of the project are compliant with all legal requirements and contract terms that govern the project and the surrounding community that it takes place in.
  • Maintains positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and other employees
  • Prepares, schedules and supervises completion of jobs.
  • Promotes and maintains a safe job site in accordance with the company's safety policy, while remedying any hazards immediately.
  • Maintains an organized and clean job site always.


ACCOUNTABILITIES

Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervising, scheduling, assigning, monitoring and evaluating work of assigned staff are responsibilities for supervisory positions.

  • Directs company field personnel to attain project completion on time and within or under budget, while maximizing the quality of craftsmanship and safety practices that conforms to the original plans and specifications.


Fiscal Responsibilities

  • The supervisor is responsible for running large installation crews and enforcing the department budget.


KEY JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be proficient Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment and be a team player
  • Must possess organizational skills as well as possess good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyze problems, determine solutions and produce the desire outcome and possess good time management skills
  • Must be able to analyze purchasing, construction and financial documents
  • Must have reliable transportation and tools
  • Must have minimal 5 years' experience in heating, ventilation and air conditioning,
  • Ability to lift 70+ pounds
  • Must have skills in HVAC repair and maintenance.
  • Experience with construction scheduling and running large crews of field installers.
  • Written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to lead others.
  • The ability to prepare and present budgets, reports and job estimates.
  • HVAC certification in supervisory job position or 3 years' experience and training in field
  • Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in written form
  • Must be able to operate a motor vehicle
  • Able to speak and translate Spanish a plus


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The requirements listed below are representative of the physical ability required.

  • Work is performed at customer sites.
  • Lighting is both artificial and natural. Equipment used includes safety equipment such as, gloves, safety glasses, hardhat, harness, ladders, scaffolding and other repair equipment.
  • Individual will have exposure to rain, dust, noise, heat, cold, and fumes.
  • Work will require individual to work at heights, on top of roofs, on ledges, etc,
  • Physical demands include walking, standing, repetitive use of both hands and arms, driving motor vehicles, as well as balancing, climbing ladders and other height equipment, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50lbs.
  • Hours and days are primarily Monday through Friday with some overtime and weekends required.
  • Position requires contact with Blue Mountain employees, customers, and outside vendors.

The base pay range for this position is: $78,750.00 - $137,000.
