Description
Workhorse is seeking an experienced and people-focused Human Resources Manager to support our Detroit area operations. This role will serve as a trusted partner to business leaders, provide hands-on HR support, and help drive consistent, compliant, and employee-centered HR practices across the organization. The ideal candidate brings strong Benefits knowledge, excellent executive-level communication skills, and experience working within an HRIS environment, preferably Paylocity.
This is a hybrid role based out of our Wixom office.
4 days a week in office preferredWhat You Will Do- Serve as a strategic HR partner to leaders and executives, providing guidance on employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness
- Manage and support employee relations matters, including investigations, coaching, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation
- Oversee and support benefits administration, including enrollments, employee education, vendor coordination, and issue resolution
- Partner with executives to clearly communicate HR initiatives, policies, and organizational updates
- Support compensation, performance, and talent processes in alignment with company goals
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Maintain and update employee records and HR data within the HRIS
- Leverage HR analytics and reporting to identify trends and inform decision-making
- Collaborate with payroll, finance, and leadership teams to ensure accuracy and alignment.
- Support onboarding, employee engagement initiatives, and retention strategies.
- Manage and support immigration-related processes, including coordination with immigration counsel, visa tracking, documentation, and compliance requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a manager or lead capacity
- Strong working knowledge of employee benefits programs and administration
- Proven ability to communicate effectively and professionally with executive leadership
- HRIS experience required; Paylocity experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of employment law and HR best practices
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
- Experience supporting a hybrid workforce is a plus
