Full Job Description
This role is designed to elevate the HR group, expand and strengthen core processes to enhance employee experience, and enrich our culture. As a hybrid position, it provides both work-from-home flexibility and in-office collaboration. You will lead the HR department, including one direct report, and influence the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, performance management, employee relations, and benefits administration.

What you'll do:

As the HR Manager, you will oversee day-to-day Human Resources operations to ensure consistency, legal compliance, and continued success of the firm.
Team Leadership & Supervision
  • Directly supervise and mentor the HR Generalist, providing day-to-day coaching, workload direction, performance feedback, and professional development
  • Delegate responsibilities effectively while maintaining accountability for team output and service quality
  • Support the strategic direction to build strong pipelines for leadership roles through targeted development programs, mentoring, and structured succession planning
Recruitment & Onboarding
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment processes, including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and offer coordination
  • Oversee a structured onboarding experience that sets new employees up for success and reinforces company culture
Performance Management & Employee Relations
  • Administer and continuously improve the performance management process, supporting managers with guidance, tools, and consistency
  • Navigate sensitive employee relations matters with discretion, facilitating timely and equitable resolutions
Benefits Administration
  • Manage benefit plan administration and lead annual plan renewals
  • Build and maintain effective third-party provider relationships and communication
  • Support administration of the company's retirement plans, including the ESOP and 401(k), coordinating census data, participant communications, and notices with the third-party administrator and recordkeeper
Compliance & Policy
  • Execute HR policies and procedures that support leadership and organizational goals
  • Ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations

Process & Technology Improvement
  • Identify and pilot technology and AI tools to modernize HR operations and reduce administrative burden
  • Drive process improvements, operational efficiency, and workflow documentation across HR functions

What we are looking for:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required; SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR certification preferred
  • 10+ years of progressive HR generalist experience in professional service environments
  • Demonstrated experience directly supervising or managing HR staff, including setting priorities, conducting performance reviews, and developing team members
  • Expertise in HR operations, employment law, compliance, and benefits administration
  • Familiarity with ERISA and qualified retirement plan administration strongly preferred; experience supporting an ESOP and/or 401(k) a plus
  • Ability to navigate sensitive employee relations matters and facilitate equitable resolutions
  • Demonstrated success in coaching leaders who are deeply committed to people and culture, with the ability to develop and strengthen that commitment across the organization
  • Demonstrated track record of identifying and implementing process improvements and adopting technology, including AI tools, to drive operational efficiency
  • Builds strong cross-functional partnerships across departments, including Accounting, Payroll, and other corporate teams
  • Knowledge of compliance with all federal, state, and local labor and employment laws
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in HR information systems, ATS databases (JazzHR a plus), MS Office Suite
