The HR Liaison is the prime point of contact between the HR Service Center (HRSC) and Sector HR Business Partners (HRBPs). Each Liaison owns a portfolio of HRBPs, independently resolves complex and high-sensitivity employee matters, and represents the HRSC on significant issues requiring coordination across organizations.

This position is located in Irving, TX.

Key Responsibilities:

Case Ownership & Resolution

  • Independently diagnose, own, and resolve complex HR inquiries spanning General HR, Leave of Absence, Payroll and Timekeeping, Benefits, and Travel.

  • Resolve problems of unusual complexity where no precedent exists, keeping solutions consistent with HRSC and sector objectives.

HRBP & Stakeholder Partnership

  • Serve as the named HRSC contact for an assigned portfolio of Sector HRBPs, engaging senior HR leaders and COE partners (Payroll, Benefits, Travel) on matters requiring cross-organization coordination.

  • Represent the HRSC on enterprise-wide initiatives and deliver updates back to the assigned portfolio.

  • Build awareness of HRSC services across the sectors through staff meetings and service updates.

Knowledge, Training & Community

  • Own assigned Knowledge Base articles and process documentation, keeping content current and aligned to the latest Tier 2 escalation pathways.

  • Deliver quarterly brown-bag sessions and job-shadow opportunities that build HR process knowledge across the HRSC and HRBP community.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Analyze escalation-to-HRBP trends with Service Excellence and recommend process enhancements that reduce repeat escalations.

What Success Looks Like

  • HRBP escalations are routed through and resolved by the HR Liaison team, with no COE bypass — measured via the ServiceNow dashboard.

  • SLA adherence of 95% or higher against the two-day response commitment.

  • HRBP satisfaction of 4.5 out of 5.0 or higher on pulse surveys.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience OR Master’s degree and 3 years of experience OR Associate’s degree with 7 years of experience OR High School Diploma and 9 years of experience.

  • Experience in an HR Shared Services or service center environment, with strong knowledge of General HR, Leave of Absence, Payroll, Benefits, and Travel processes.

  • Knowledge with case management tools or ticketing systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, high-sensitivity cases with sound judgment and minimal direction.

  • Proficiency developing processes, standards, or service models adopted beyond the incumbent's own team.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the presence to interact credibly with senior HR leaders and external vendors.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with HRIS platforms such as Workday, UKG, or SAP SuccessFactors.

  • Proven training and facilitation experience in a peer or stakeholder-facing setting.

  • U.S. Government Security Clearance.

Primary Level Salary Range: $89,900.00 - $134,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
