Overview

Each and every team member plays a vital role in our success. We are rapidly expanding and looking for a professional, self-motivated individual to fill the role of Human Resources Manager.

Responsibilities

The Human Resources Manager will manage a regional HR team and directly support local branch operations across our assigned Western region. In this role, you will act as a strategic partner to leadership, driving initiatives across employee relations, performance management, and strict California legal compliance.

While you will lead regional operations and manage a local team, you won't do it alone. This position is backed by a full corporate HR department, giving you direct access to dedicated teams for Payroll, Benefits, Recruiting, Onboarding, L&D, Organizational Development, and Compensation so you can focus on high-impact regional leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Branch Support: Directly manage and mentor a regional HR team while providing hands-on support and guidance to branch operations.

Strategic Advisory: Provide high-quality advice and counsel to regional and location managers on complex employee relations, performance management, and talent retention.

Departmental Collaboration: Partner with specialized corporate HR teams—including Payroll, Benefits, Recruiting, Onboarding, L&D, Org Development, and Compensation—to seamlessly deploy company-wide programs locally.

Legal Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to federal, state, and local requirements by deeply studying existing and upcoming legislation (including CA Labor Code, Wage Orders, CFRA, and Cal/OSHA). Anticipate legislative changes and direct management on necessary compliance actions.

Performance & Leadership Development: Improve regional management and team member performance by identifying systemic problems, evaluating solutions, and executing targeted coaching and counseling.

Policy Optimization: Continuously analyze company policies, procedures, and handbooks to recommend and implement structural improvements.

Culture & Well-being: Serve as a champion for the HR Department by promoting programs related to employee health, safety, training, and overall well-being.

Qualifications

Requirements: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Experience: A minimum of 5–7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2+ years in an HR supervisory or management role.

California Expertise: Expert knowledge of California employment laws and practices is required. Professional certification is highly preferred.

Technical Skills: Strong computer skills with expert knowledge of Microsoft Office; advanced proficiency with HRMS/HRIS and ATS platforms.

Execution & Adaptability: Proven ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment, prioritize complex workloads, self-manage large-scale projects, and meet strict deadlines.

Core Competencies: Exceptional communication, high emotional intelligence, interpersonal skills, and an advanced aptitude for problem-solving.

Operational Oversight: Experience ensuring accurate record-keeping and the strict maintenance of confidential team member files.
