The Human Resources Generalist provides professional, responsive, and customer-focused support across a broad range of human resources functions, with a primary focus on benefits administration. This role serves as a key resource, supporting benefits, retirement programs, HR systems, employee relations, policy administration, and other human resources activities while helping ensure effective HR service delivery and a positive employee experience.
Responsibilities: - Provide dedicated and effective HR advisory service to employees that covers, staffing, benefits, leave of absence, training and development, and employee relation matters, when needed.
- Respond to Ask HR related tickets and appeals in a timely manner.
- Assist in communication, interpretation and update of policies, procedures, and Ask HR knowledge Articles.
- Assist with Joint Commission Accreditation preparation and process.
- Maintain human resources information systems (HRIS) which includes business process builds, business process testing, and compile reports, as needed.
- Assist with preparation or update of employment records related to hiring, transferring, promoting, and terminating; including the review of error reports and make corrections in HRIS.
- Perform benefit quality checks, ensure efficient day to day benefit administration, including managing 403b retirement eligibility process.
- Ensure The Hartford provides exceptional LOA services to employees; respond to The Hartford's request for information; address employee escalations; and support and document the ADA accommodated leave process.
- Weekly review of LOA return list; contact employees to confirm return date. Notify managers of extended leave dates; maintain correct status by initiating leave or return HRIS.
- Respond to EDD Unemployment request for information by mail and online, including providing request for information from Equifax to address unemployment appeals.
- Assist with coordination and facilitation of committees and employee resource groups, which includes wellness, training, Inclusion Diversity & Health Equity
- Coordinate and assist in HR Department will annual events such as Benefits Open Enrollment, employee service award and employee rewards & recognition event, and hospital week celebrations.
- Maintain HR Department website.
- Support HR duties and projects as assigned.
- Employee must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the C-I-CARE Standards of the Hospital. C-I-CARE is the foundation of Stanford Healthcare - Tri-Valley patient-experience and represents a framework for patient-centered interactions
Education and Experience:- Highschool Diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Experience administering employee benefits programs, including enrollments, benefit reconciliations, billing audits, and vendor coordination required.
- Experience administering 403(b) retirement plans, including nondiscrimination testing, regulatory compliance, and coordination of retirement plan audits required.

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $36.26 - $45.33 per hour
