Position DescriptionThe Human Resources Generalist plays a key role in delivering comprehensive HR support across employee relations, engagement, HR systems, and talent processes. This role acts as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, supports a positive workplace culture, and ensures efficient and compliant HR operations. The position combines strategic partnership with hands-on execution to enhance the overall employee experience and organizational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities- Employee Relations
- Act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on workplace concerns, policy interpretation, and conflict resolution
- Manage and resolve complex employee relations matters, including conducting fair, thorough investigations when required
- Coach leaders on performance management, disciplinary actions, and effective employee communication
- Ensure consistent application of company policies and employment legislation, mitigating organizational risk through proper documentation
- Employee Engagement
- Lead and support employee engagement initiatives that enhance workplace culture and overall employee experience
- Design and implement programs that promote recognition, inclusion, well-being, retention, and morale
- Partner with business leaders to assess workforce trends and recommend strategies to improve engagement and productivity
- HRIS Management & HR Operations
- Maintain, optimize, and support HRIS systems to ensure accurate employee data and smooth lifecycle transactions
- Manage onboarding, transfers, promotions, and terminations within HR systems
- Generate, analyze, and report on key HR metrics to support business decisions
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes through automation and system enhancements
- Ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and compliance with privacy regulations, serving as a liaison with IT and system vendors
- Talent Acquisition, Onboarding & Offboarding
- Support full-cycle recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, and documentation
- Assist with onboarding activities, including company orientation
Support offboarding processes, including severance calculations, documentation, and exit interviews, and summarize feedback for follow-up
- Administration
- Facilitate the Employee Committee and support related initiatives
- Create, update, and maintain HR policies and procedures in alignment with best practices
- Prepare reports on key HR metrics and workforce data
- Prepare job grant applications and support HR projects and initiatives
Required Education & Qualifications- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, along with a minimum of 7+ years' experience in a multi-cultural environment, preferably manufacturing.
- Member of, or working towards a CPHR designation.
- Solid understanding of Provincial employment and Human Rights legislation.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft office.
- Superior communication skills, both oral and written.
