Position Description

The Human Resources Generalist plays a key role in delivering comprehensive HR support across employee relations, engagement, HR systems, and talent processes. This role acts as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, supports a positive workplace culture, and ensures efficient and compliant HR operations. The position combines strategic partnership with hands-on execution to enhance the overall employee experience and organizational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Employee Relations
    • Act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on workplace concerns, policy interpretation, and conflict resolution
    • Manage and resolve complex employee relations matters, including conducting fair, thorough investigations when required
    • Coach leaders on performance management, disciplinary actions, and effective employee communication
    • Ensure consistent application of company policies and employment legislation, mitigating organizational risk through proper documentation
  • Employee Engagement
    • Lead and support employee engagement initiatives that enhance workplace culture and overall employee experience
    • Design and implement programs that promote recognition, inclusion, well-being, retention, and morale
    • Partner with business leaders to assess workforce trends and recommend strategies to improve engagement and productivity
  • HRIS Management & HR Operations
    • Maintain, optimize, and support HRIS systems to ensure accurate employee data and smooth lifecycle transactions
    • Manage onboarding, transfers, promotions, and terminations within HR systems
    • Generate, analyze, and report on key HR metrics to support business decisions
    • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes through automation and system enhancements
    • Ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and compliance with privacy regulations, serving as a liaison with IT and system vendors
  • Talent Acquisition, Onboarding & Offboarding
    • Support full-cycle recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, and documentation
    • Assist with onboarding activities, including company orientation
      Support offboarding processes, including severance calculations, documentation, and exit interviews, and summarize feedback for follow-up
  • Administration
    • Facilitate the Employee Committee and support related initiatives
    • Create, update, and maintain HR policies and procedures in alignment with best practices
    • Prepare reports on key HR metrics and workforce data
    • Prepare job grant applications and support HR projects and initiatives


Required Education & Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, along with a minimum of 7+ years' experience in a multi-cultural environment, preferably manufacturing.


  • Member of, or working towards a CPHR designation.

  • Solid understanding of Provincial employment and Human Rights legislation.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft office.

  • Superior communication skills, both oral and written.
