Position SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented
Human Resources Generalist to support the daily administration of Human Resources while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our Human Resources Information System (HRIS). This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys process improvement, data management, compliance, and creating efficient, employee-focused HR operations.
Working closely with the
Human Resources Manager, this position plays a critical role in maintaining accurate employee records, supporting the employee lifecycle, and ensuring HR systems and processes operate efficiently.
Position SummaryThe Human Resources Generalist is responsible for administering day-to-day Human Resources operations, maintaining employee records, performing quality assurance of HRIS data, and supporting compliance and reporting. This position ensures the accuracy of personnel information, processes employee transactions, coordinates HR administrative functions, and provides exceptional customer service to employees and managers.
The successful candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining confidentiality while supporting a growing government contracting organization.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesHR Administration- Administer employee lifecycle transactions, including new hires, promotions, transfers, compensation changes, leave administration, and separations.
- Prepare and process personnel action documentation.
- Maintain electronic employee personnel files and HR records.
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding activities.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and employment documentation.
- Maintain organizational charts and employee directories.
- Assist with employment verification requests.
HRIS Administration & Quality Assurance- Maintain employee records within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
- Perform routine audits of employee data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Identify and correct data discrepancies across HR systems.
- Validate HRIS workflows and system processes.
- Test new HRIS functionality and system enhancements prior to implementation.
- Support HRIS upgrades, implementations, and process improvements.
- Develop and maintain HR system documentation and user procedures.
- Generate recurring and ad hoc HR reports.
Compliance & Documentation- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and company employment requirements.
- Assist with I-9 administration and employment eligibility verification.
- Coordinate required employee acknowledgments and policy updates.
- Support personnel record retention requirements.
- Assist with internal audits and compliance reviews.
- Maintain HR forms, templates, and standard operating procedures.
Benefits & Payroll Support- Assist employees with benefit enrollment and life event changes.
- Coordinate benefit documentation with vendors.
- Review payroll-related personnel changes for accuracy prior to processing.
- Assist with annual Open Enrollment activities.
- Support leave administration documentation.
Reporting & Data Management- Prepare HR metrics and reports.
- Monitor employee data for completeness and accuracy.
- Assist with compliance reporting requirements.
- Support workforce planning and organizational reporting initiatives.
- Develop dashboards and recurring HR operational reports.
Process Improvement- Identify opportunities to improve HR administrative processes.
- Recommend automation opportunities within HR systems.
- Develop standardized procedures to improve efficiency.
- Assist in implementing new HR technologies and workflows.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives supporting HR operations.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Three (3) or more years of Human Resources administrative or HR operations experience.
- Experience maintaining employee records within an HRIS.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience supporting Human Resources within a government contracting environment.
- Experience with iSolved HRIS or similar Human Capital Management systems.
- Experience performing HR data audits and quality assurance.
- Familiarity with federal employment regulations and HR compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting benefits administration and onboarding processes.

Salary Range (DMV Market): $75,000 annually-$110,000 annually
Location-Based Compensation: Compensation is determined based on the employee's primary work location, applicable labor market, experience, education, certifications, security clearance, and other job-related factors. Candidates working outside the DMV may receive a different salary range consistent with local market conditions and applicable law.
