DescriptionAdair County Health System (ACHS) is seeking an experienced and collaborative
Human Resources Director to provide strategic leadership and oversight of the organization's Human Resources function. This full-time, exempt position is part of the Human Resources department, follows a Monday-Friday schedule, and reports to the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Leadership. The HR Director partners with executive leadership and department leaders to develop and implement workforce and talent strategies that support ACHS's mission, vision, values, and operational goals. The position serves as a trusted resource to employees and leaders while fostering a positive, respectful, and collaborative workplace culture and ensuring compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations.
Essential functions:- Provide leadership to the system in developing and advancing the organization's human resources philosophy, culture, and strategic workforce initiatives.
- Participates in the strategic planning process and collaborates with executive leadership to define the organization's long-term mission and goals; identifies workforce strategies to support organizational growth, sustainability, and operational excellence.
- Works collaboratively with leadership to shape organizational culture, strengthen employee engagement, and support recruitment and retention initiatives critical to rural healthcare operations.
- Develops and manages system-wide Human Resource policies, programs, and practices in areas including recruitment, compensation, benefits, employee relations, HRIS, payroll, performance management, and organizational development to ensure organizational objectives are achieved.
- Evaluates changing legal and regulatory requirements related to Human Resources management and develops or modifies policies and programs to maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Provides leadership and oversight for workforce planning, succession planning, employee engagement, leadership development, and retention strategies.
- Directs and evaluates Human Resource Department operations ensuring appropriate selection, training, development, compensation, performance evaluation, and accountability of department personnel.
- Fosters an environment that promotes professional growth, staff development, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement through effective leadership and education.
- Serves as a resource and advisor to managers and leadership regarding employee relations, performance concerns, conflict resolution, and organizational effectiveness.
- Maintains professional and community affiliations as appropriate to remain informed of developments in healthcare human resources and maintain positive community relationships.
- Promotes effective communication, collaboration, and strong working relationships with employees, providers, leadership, and community stakeholders.
- Creates and supports an environment that is open, inclusive, and aligned with the mission, vision, and values of ACHS.
- Administratively responsible for Human Resources, Marketing, Public Relations, and Dietary Services.
Requirements- Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred, preferably in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in human resources with demonstrated success leading multiple functional areas and organizational initiatives.
- Experience in all core human resource functions including recruitment and retention, compensation and benefits, employee engagement, learning and development, performance management, policy development, workforce planning, and regulatory compliance.
- Healthcare experience preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of federal and state employment laws, accreditation standards, and healthcare workforce challenges.
- Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships, lead organizational change, and support a positive workplace culture.
