Position Overview:This position serves as a key HR partner by providing daily support, guidance, and engagement to employees and leaders across the site. The role manages full-cycle hiring needs, conducts employee relations investigations, and ensures consistent application of policies and employment regulations. It also oversees leave of absence processes, maintains accurate and confidential employee records, and supports a variety of employee events and compliance activities. Additionally, the position analyzes workforce data to identify trends and presents insights to senior leadership.

Your Day to Day as a Human Resources Business Partner:- Provide day-to-day Human Resources support to the workforce through employee engagement on the shop floor, responding to questions/inquires in a timely manner and working to resolve concerns as soon as identified.
- Partner with leadership and Talent Acquisition to provide full cycle support for the site's hiring needs.
- Advise employees and managers on interpretation of policies, guidelines, procedures, laws, and other government regulations.
- Complete employee relations investigations with a focus on the facts of the situation, legal and policy compliance, and prompt resolution.
- Guide and support employees through FMLA and Short-Term Disability related leaves and coordinates required return to work protocols.
- Assist with employee events, including but not limited to, benefits enrollment; policy training; organization-wide meetings; career fairs and employee recognition events.
- Ensure regulatory compliance through routine checks of required legal and ethics postings.
- Manage the maintenance, integrity and confidentiality of new hire files and records.
- Analyze data and statistics for trends and patterns with attention to recruitment, hiring practices, motivation, turnover, and compliance with employment laws and regulations.
- Prepare reports of data results, presenting and explaining findings to senior leadership.
- Consult with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
Required Minimum Qualifications:- A Bachelor's Degree in human resources, business, or a closely related field.
- At least 6 years of related experience in human resources including experience in the areas of staffing; benefits; compensation; employee relations and employment law compliance.
- Ability to work fully onsite at BWXT's Mt. Vernon, IN office location.
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service while ensuring legal and policy compliance.
- Demonstrated time management skills with the ability to effectively balance multiple competing priorities.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and to work collaboratively with cross functional teams.
- Demonstrated intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite's Outlook, PowerPoint and Word. With an advanced proficiency level in Excel to produce required business reporting.
- This position supports a safety and quality driven, 24-7 manufacturing operation and requires the ability and availability to occasionally work the adjusted schedule. Variations to normal work hours may include, but are not limited to, support of early morning meetings, engagement with the shop floor during 2nd shift evening operations, scheduled plant initiatives, unplanned after-hours investigations and pre-planned weekend employee events.

Pay: $76,000 - $119,000
The base salary range for this position in Indiana (US-IN) at the start of employment is expected to be between $76,000 and $119,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,' unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.
