Job Description:
Human Resources Business Partner – Engineered Systems
Parsons is seeking a dynamic Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to support our Engineered Systems sector, partnering with program and operational leaders across multiple locations. In this primarily remote role, you’ll provide expert guidance on workforce planning, employee relations, performance management, talent development, and organizational effectiveness to help drive mission-critical programs.
The HRBP is both a strategic and hands-on role that will function as an influential business partner, collaborating closely with business leaders, managers and the Human Resources (HR) team to align strategic priorities and business needs. This is a key position that will collaborate with internal partners and business leadership to identify, develop, and execute solutions in the full spectrum of HR disciplines to promote a culture of high performance, strong engagement and consistent growth.
The HRBP serves as an advisor and consultant to employees and managers on HR-related issues. This role involves fostering a positive organizational culture and driving employee engagement and performance and aligning HR practices with business objectives and driving organizational success. The HRBP will work closely with leadership to influence and guide HR practices, ensuring the organization develops, and retains top talent. This role requires a strategic mindset, strong organizational and prioritization skills, and the ability to navigate complex business challenges.
The position would be remote; qualified candidates must reside inside the continental US, preferably in VA/MD/DC vicinity. Occasional in-person meetings will be required.
Specific Responsibilities
• Work closely with HR Director and business leaders to address sensitive employee matters, ensuring issues are handled with empathy, fairness, confidentiality, and professionalism to support a positive work environment
• Partner with sector leaders to shape HR strategies that attract, develop, and retain top talent
• Coach leaders onperformance management, retention, goal setting, and effective communication
• Leverage HR data and workforce metrics to identify trends, inform decisions, and proactively address risks and opportunities
• Identify opportunities toimprove HR effectivenessand partner with leaders to implement solutions. Provide day-to-day HR support, advising on employee relations, performance management, and organizational challenges to foster a compliant, high-performing, and engaged workforce
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including government contracting regulations and the McNamara 6O 2Hara Service Contract Act (SCA)
• Collaborate withHR Centers of Excellence (Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Benefits, Learning & Development)to deliver seamless HR programs and ensure consistent, compliant, and scalable performance practices across the business
Qualities/Skills You Possess
• Bachelor 2s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Strong relationship-building, collaboration, and customer service skills, with a commitment to continuous improvement
• High integrity and ability tohandle confidential information
• Proficiency with HR technologies and software; ability to work independently and as part of a team
• 5+ years of progressive HR experience working in federal government or defense contracting environments, with a strong understanding of the unique HR, compliance, and operational requirements in these settings
• Experiencepartnering with managers or operational leadersto address workforce challenges and implement HR solutions aligned with business objectives
• In-depth knowledge of SCA compliance, including wage determinations, employee classification, and fringe benefits for federal service contract employees
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability toconvey complex HR topics, facilitate difficult conversations, and coach leaders at all levels
• Proven ability tomanage multiple prioritiesin a fast-paced environment, with strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills
