*This is a an on-campus position, there may be some telework flexibility. The incumbent may travel to public sites to make presentations as well as travel to national or regional meetings and conferences.

Fall 2026Position Summary:
This position is accountable for providing on site human resources services to potential and current faculty and staff employed at the College.

Supervisory and Other Relationships:
This position reports to the Director of Human Resources and has no direct reports.

Position Responsibilities:
The following examples of duties illustrate the general range of tasks assigned to the position but are not intended to define the limits of the position. Other essential duties may be assigned consistent with the general scope of the position.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for faculty and staff seeking assistance with routine human resources questions, escalating complex matters as appropriate.
  • Coordinate recruitment and hiring activities for faculty and full-time staff.
  • Prepare and process contracts and appointment letters and other employment documentation.
  • Maintain employee schedules and faculty contracting calendar coordinating timelines with Academic Affairs.
  • Coordinate employee onboarding activities and required employment documentation for new faculty and staff.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential personnel records in accordance with applicable College, CSCU, and legal requirements.
  • Coordinate and process faculty compensation in accordance with approved appointments and payroll schedules.
  • Process employee lifecycle transactions including appointments, renewals, changes in status, and separations.
  • Assist with employee orientations, training, communications, and HR projects in support of departmental and institutional priorities.
  • Collaborate with Academic Affairs, Finance, Payroll, IT, and other departments and institutions as necessary to support timely and accurate personnel processes
Minimum Qualifications:
Incumbents must possess proven ability to effectively work with a culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and students. They are expected to have excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong Information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.). Incumbents are required to have demonstrated advanced knowledge and abilities in the following:
  • Bachelor's degree or four (4) years of equivalent experience within a supportive human resource orientated role.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred candidates of the position will additionally possess the following:
  • Four (4) or more years working experience in higher education.
  • Experience using CORE CT.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment.
Work Environment:
The incumbent typically performs work in the offices of the College's headquarters located at 185 Main Street, New Britain, Connecticut. The work does not, normally, involve any significant physical effort but does require the ability to work from the College headquarters. The incumbent may travel to public sites to make presentations as well as travel to national or regional meetings and conferences.Salary Range:
The salary range for this position is $65,657 - $98,482 and while experience and qualifications are considered, candidates will start at the minimum of the salary range.
