Full Job Description
Human Resources Manager

Rainbow Restoration - Greenville, SC

We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Manager to serve as the senior HR resource for our multi-location organization of fewer than 200 employees.

Our people are central to our success, and this role requires someone who can build strong relationships with employees and leaders while providing practical, consistent HR support across the organization.

This is a hands-on leadership role with ownership of the Human Resources function across the organization. The right person will work directly with employees and leaders while independently managing the day-to-day HR needs of a growing operating company.

What Success Looks Like
  • Full-cycle HR ownership: Serve as the primary HR point of contact for employees and leadership across multiple locations and entities, managing the employee lifecycle from recruiting and onboarding through performance management and separation.
  • Employee relations: Lead employee relations matters, workplace investigations, conflict resolution, corrective actions, performance improvement plans, and terminations while maintaining consistent documentation and practices.
  • Leadership partnership: Advise executives, VPs, managers, and supervisors on employee relations, performance management, policy interpretation, compensation, workforce planning, and organizational decisions.
  • Recruiting and onboarding: Own job postings, candidate pipelines, interviews, offers, background checks, MVRs, I-9/E-Verify, onboarding, and new-hire documentation.
  • Benefits and retirement: Administer medical, dental, vision, life/disability, COBRA, and 401(k) programs, including enrollment, eligibility, employee questions, and escalations.
  • HR systems and records: Maintain HRIS employee records, compensation changes, deductions, employee data, and HR-related system administration. Payroll processing is managed separately.
  • Compliance: Maintain compliance with applicable federal and multi-state employment requirements, including FLSA, FMLA and leave administration, ACA reporting, OSHA-related HR requirements, workers' compensation, unemployment, and required employment records.
  • Workers' compensation and safety: Manage workers' compensation claims, return-to-work processes, incident documentation, safety policies, safety training, and required documentation in coordination with leadership and carriers.
  • Policies and processes: Develop, implement, and maintain employee policies, handbooks, SOPs, job descriptions, compensation agreements, forms, and HR processes.
  • Performance and compensation: Manage HR administration related to performance reviews, compensation changes, commission structures, promotions, disciplinary actions, and organizational changes.
  • Culture and engagement: Lead employee recognition, internal HR communications, engagement initiatives, employee meetings, and programs that reinforce company values.
  • Reporting: Maintain and report key HR metrics including headcount, turnover, hiring, PTO, compensation, and other workforce information for senior leadership.
  • Credentialing: Manage employee credentials, licenses, background requirements, driving records, and customer or vendor compliance requirements.
  • Confidentiality and professionalism: Maintain a high degree of confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism when handling sensitive employee and company matters.

Ideal Candidate

We're looking for an experienced HR professional who understands that effective HR requires sound judgment, consistency, strong relationships, and an understanding of the business.

The right person should be comfortable operating independently as the senior HR resource while serving as a practical business partner to employees, managers, and senior leadership.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required
  • Minimum of five years of progressive Human Resources experience
  • Prior HR management or senior generalist experience preferred
  • Broad working knowledge of benefits administration, workers' compensation, leave administration, and HR compliance
  • Working knowledge of federal employment requirements and the ability to manage HR matters across South Carolina and Virginia
  • Experience supporting multiple locations or operating groups preferred
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage sensitive matters professionally
  • Ability to travel to company locations as needed (10%)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred

Compensation & Benefits

We offer a starting salary of $75,000-$90,000, based on relevant experience and qualifications, health and dental insurance, a 401(k) with company match, paid time off, and the opportunity to help shape the HR function of a growing organization.

We're looking for someone who values professionalism, accountability, consistency, and relationships-and who understands that great HR supports both our employees and the leaders responsible for running the business.
