Full Job Description
The Director of Human Resources is responsible for ensuring Choice Schools attracts, hires, onboards, and retains exceptional talent while maintaining compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations. This role oversees recruitment strategy, leadership hiring, onboarding, HR technology systems, compliance programs, credentialing support processes, and workers' compensation administration. The Director serves as the operational leader for HR systems and processes that support employees throughout the employment lifecycle.

Talent Acquisition & Recruitment
• Lead network-wide recruitment strategy.
• Oversee teacher, support staff, and leadership recruitment efforts.
• Personally manage executive and leadership-level searches.
• Monitor staffing metrics and hiring trends.
• Develop innovative sourcing and recruitment strategies.
• Partner with school leaders and superintendents on workforce planning.
• Builds partnerships with colleges and universities to attract future talent
• Builds additional partnerships and sourcing efforts to attract high-quality talent
• Oversees and provides tools and resources for effective interview techniques
• Ensures a positive candidate experiences throughout the hiring process

Onboarding & Employee Lifecycle
• Ensures onboarding process, system, and communications are employee-focused and that the overall onboarding process enhances the employee experience.
• Oversee onboarding or "new hire paperwork" programs for school and central office employees.
• Ensure new hires are successfully integrated into the organization and that all compliance items are tracked, collected, and accounted for prior to hire.
• Maintain onboarding systems, workflows, and compliance processes.

Compliance & Risk Management
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
• Oversee employee records, credential verification, and required documentation.
• Ensures internal audits and compliance reviews.
• Manage employment investigations related to compliance concerns.
• Oversee labor law posting requirements and HR compliance training.

Workers' Compensation Administration
• Oversee workers' compensation claims and return-to-work programs.
• Partner with insurance carriers and school leaders to reduce claim exposure.
• Analyze trends and implement prevention strategies.

HR Technology & Analytics
• Serve as the owner of Rippling and other HR technology platforms.
• Lead HRIS optimization and reporting.
• Develops metrics to support strategic decision-making.
• Ensure data integrity and security.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in HR roles, including leadership and managerial responsibilities, preferred.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing HR policies, programs, and initiatives.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively with all levels of the organization.
