How You'll Make an Impact

As an HSES Manager you'll be at the forefront of our innovation, driving specialty chemical solutions forward. You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing, and enhance modern life.

The HSES Manager sets the direction and drives the execution of a safety culture within the Institutional business in collaboration with the senior leaders of the business, the region and the corporate HSES leaders. This is a sole contributor role that will report directly to the Sr. plant Manager, functionally coordinating with divisional leadership. The successful candidate will be a self-starting leader who enjoys the challenges of daily involvement with the site team.

In this role, you will:
  • Plans, directs and manages the safety, health, environmental and security programs cascaded from the business and Corporate HSES in collaboration with the region and market HSES partners.
  • Provides direction, sets and executes strategy with the Institutional associates.
  • Investigates incidents & near misses and promotes safety conscious work performance and training programs.
  • Collects and analyzes safety performance measures to determine insight and action necessary.
  • Conducts root cause analyses and recommend and implements actions to drive safety improvements.
  • Conducts studies and investigations to ensure compliance with government safety and health laws, standards and regulations, in addition to industrial hygiene.
  • Provides guidance, technical support and interpretation of compliance, HSES standards, laws and regulations, industry standards, and customer requirements
  • Validate market compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, industry best practices, and customer requirements
  • Lead the implementation of any required certification to assure conformance and continuous improvement. Involved in audits of health and safety programs at the facilities to identify and control significant loss producing exposure
  • Collaborates across the global division to build and leverage best practices and tools and operates as a key stakeholder on the Institutional senior leadership team.
  • Manages Workers Compensation claims in conjunction with corporate legal and HSES team.
  • In conjunction with the Global HSES Manager, implements HSES programs, consistent with the system for the Franklin site.
  • Coordinates, implements and manages all HSES programs for the Franklin site.
  • Coordinates, implements and manages environmental regulatory permits for the Franklin site.
  • Domestic travel may be required.


Required Qualifications that Enable Your Success
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3+ years related experience in health, safety and environmental management and compliance or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledgeable of both safety and environmental regulatory requirements as well as manufacturing & ergonomics experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and improve HSES programs.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills up and down organizational structure.
  • Strong organizational and execution skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead in a team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Certifications in Industrial Hygiene (CIH) and/or Safety (CSP).
  • Knowledge of worker's compensation and familiarity with OSHA recording practices.


Preferred Qualifications that Drive you Forward
  • Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, or technical major
  • Working knowledge of cleanroom manufacturing and ISO 13485 regulations a plus.
  • Excellent (written and verbal) communication and effective human interaction skills.
  • Flexible to change and possess a high degree level of integrity and "can do attitude".
  • Willing to work in a team environment and contribute to group goals.
  • Ability to receive and provide instructions in a positive manner.
