In this role, you will support field operations by ensuring the effective implementation of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs across multiple locations. You will work closely with line management and operational teams to drive compliance, improve safety performance, and embed HSE as a core component of daily operations and business objectives.
This is a hands-on, field-based role that requires frequent site visits and direct engagement with operational teams. The position demands the ability to manage multiple locations simultaneously, work effectively under pressure, and respond quickly to operational needs while maintaining high safety standards. This is not an office-based role and requires a high level of initiative, flexibility, and responsiveness.
Roles and Responsibilities - Support and promote HSE as an integral part of line management responsibilities and business objectives.
- Assist line management in implementing the SLB HSE Management System and monitoring HSE objectives.
- Develop and maintain local HSE procedures, work instructions, and checklists based on risk assessments.
- Monitor compliance with company policies, standards, and applicable to local, state, and federal regulations.
- Coordinate and deliver HSE training, awareness programs, and onboarding for employees and contractors.
- Collaborate with contractors, regulatory agencies, and internal stakeholders on HSE-related matters.
- Plan and support compliance audits and self-audits, including HSE MS and segment standards.
- Advise management on corrective actions and the overall level of compliance with SLB and regulatory requirements.
- Facilitate local safety meetings, inspections, and HSE audits.
- Support investigations into incidents, accidents, near misses, and operational failures.
- Promote safety awareness through communication, engagement, and employee involvement initiatives.
- Analyze HSE data and trends to identify risks, improvement opportunities, and recommend enhancements to the HSE program.
Qualifications and Experience - A bachelor's degree in occupational health & safety, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or related field is required.
- 4-7 years of relevant experience in Health, Safety, and Environmental roles, preferably within field operations, oilfield services, manufacturing, or other industrial environments.
- Active membership in the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) is required.
- OSHA certification is required.
- Knowledge of radiation safety and explosives operations is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of HSE management systems, compliance frameworks, risk assessment, and incident investigation processes.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and perform effectively under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build credibility at all levels of the organization.
- This is a field-oriented, hands-on position, not an office-based role. It requires regular travel to operational sites, the ability to support multiple locations, overtime as needed, and availability to respond to urgent or last-minute operational calls.
