Position Specific Responsibilities- Lead and oversee Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) programs across all U.S. operations and facilities.
- Provide direct supervision, coaching, and support to the U.S. HSE Coordinator and site-level safety representatives.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
- Implement corporate HSE policies, procedures, and initiatives established by the Director of HSE.
- Conduct facility audits, inspections, and safety assessments; investigate incidents, injuries, near misses, and environmental events while ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
- Partner with Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, Service, and Human Resources teams to promote a proactive safety culture and safe work practices.
- Manage and monitor safety training programs, including regulatory, operational, customer-specific, and emergency response training requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and oversee emergency preparedness, environmental compliance, waste management, spill prevention, and chemical handling programs.
- Track, analyze, and report HSE performance metrics, including incident rates, audits, training compliance, and corrective action completion.
- Assist with customer HSE requirements, audits, contractor qualification programs, and prequalification submissions.
- Coordinate workers' compensation claims management and return-to-work programs in partnership with Human Resources.
- Support facility expansions, process improvements, and capital projects to ensure HSE requirements are incorporated into planning and execution.
- Travel regularly to U.S. facilities to provide leadership, training, auditing, and operational support.
Required Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum 5-7 years of progressively responsible HSE experience in manufacturing, industrial services, energy services, or related industries.
- Minimum 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analyses.
- Working knowledge of environmental regulations, DOT requirements, and workers' compensation programs.
- Strong organizational, communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
- Ability to influence and build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Professional certifications such as ASP, CSP, OHST, CHMM, CRSP, or equivalent are considered an asset.
Physical Demands- Frequent travel to U.S. operational and manufacturing facilities.
- Ability to walk through active shop, warehouse, and field environments.
- Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and access elevated work areas when required.
- Exposure to noise, dust, moving machinery, forklifts, and industrial equipment.
- Must be able to wear required PPE, including hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, respiratory protection, and steel-toe footwear.
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to travel by vehicle and air as required.
