Title:
HRP Data Lead

On the Human Health and Performance Contract we are at the forefront of safeguarding astronaut health, ensuring human performance, and advancing technologies for human space exploration. We are seeking an HRP Data Lead at the NASA Johnson Space Center (JSC) in Houston, TX.

What You'll Do:

In this role, you play a role in supporting the Human Research Program (HRP), assisting the Program in providing scientific guidance and oversight to a broad biomedical research and technology development program directed toward the understanding and mitigating the effects of exploration space flight beyond low-Earth orbit on crew health and performance.

You will:
  • Be responsible for compliance with Safety, Health and Environmental plan; must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all of the Company's safety policies and rules and must be willing to report safety violations and potential safety violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel.
  • Be responsible for compliance with the Quality Assurance Plan, policies and procedures.
    Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance level as determined by the Company
    Responsible for completing all assigned training.
  • Serve as a key member of the HRP senior management team, responsible for assisting the Program in guiding science policies and recommending innovative research and technology investment strategies to most effectively achieve program objectives.
  • Support the Program in developing appropriate guidance and polices regarding data management, policy, and security.
  • Provide scientific guidance and input to the Program concerning budgetary requirements and funding priorities.
  • Develop and demonstrate the interpersonal skills required to maintain productive working relationships with co-workers, management, and the customer.

You use your experience and judgment to provide subject matter expertise to improve HRP's approach to managing research data. You comply with KBR's Safety, Health and Environmental Plan, Quality Plan, and all safety policies and procedures, and complete all assigned training.

Your Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

1. Required:
Ph.D. in a science field with a minimum 10 years' experience.
Demonstrated science management experience
Familiar working within federal government structure

2. Desired:
  • Experience developing translational research strategies for funding programs associated with space health, tissue engineering and human-based technologies
  • Experience planning and executing high-level Program strategies and aligning initiatives with Program priorities
  • Prior NASA experience


Your Skills:

1. Required:
Demonstrated leadership over a diverse research team
Excellent oral/written communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to multitask is essential.

2. Desired:
Familiarity with NASA research priorities and Human Research Program processes

What to Expect

This position is expected to be fully remote. Customer-required travel will be coordinated with HRP leadership.
