Description

Position Summary

The HRIS Specialist is a hands-on technical and functional role responsible for building, managing, and optimizing the organization's HR technology stack. This person will play a foundational role in implementing and configuring payroll and HRIS systems, managing integrations across the HR ecosystem, and ensuring our platforms work seamlessly to support the business. The ideal candidate is both technically fluent and operationally minded - comfortable building workflows and API connections one day and partnering with Benefits or IT the next.

Key Responsibilities

System Implementation & Configuration

Lead or support the implementation and buildout of new payroll and HRIS platforms, including system configuration, data migration, testing, and go-live

Design and maintain approval workflows, routing rules, and automated system actions across HR platforms

Build and manage benefit enrollment modules, ensuring accurate plan configuration, eligibility rules, and employee-facing experiences

Configure and maintain ATS workflows including requisition routing, candidate stages, offer approvals, and onboarding triggers

Serve as a system administrator across HRIS, payroll, ATS, and related platforms - managing user access, roles, and permissions

Integrations & Data Feeds

Build and manage API integrations and automated data feeds between HRIS/payroll and connected systems including benefit carriers, LMS, ATS, IT provisioning, and job boards

Monitor integration health and data accuracy across all connected systems, proactively identifying and resolving failures or data discrepancies

Partner with benefit carriers to configure and maintain EDI and API feeds for enrollments, terminations, and life events

Collaborate with IT to support employee lifecycle automations including provisioning, deprovisioning, and system access changes triggered by HR data

Manage job board data connections and ATS feed configurations to ensure accurate, real-time job posting distribution

Workflows & Process Automation

Identify and automate manual HR processes through system workflows, alerts, and rules - reducing administrative burden across HR, Payroll, and Operations

Build and maintain approval path configurations for compensation changes, requisitions, onboarding, offboarding, and other HR transactions

Document all system configurations, integration maps, and workflow logic to support continuity and audit readiness

Data Integrity & Reporting

Maintain the integrity of employee data across all HR systems, performing regular audits to identify and correct discrepancies

Build and maintain standard and ad hoc reports and dashboards for HR, Finance, and Operations leadership

Support compliance reporting requirements including EEO-1, ACA, and state-specific HR data filings

Stakeholder Partnership

Act as the technical liaison between HR, Payroll, Benefits, IT, Site Leadership, and external vendors on all system-related matters

Translate business requirements from non-technical stakeholders into system configurations and integration solutions

Train HR and operational staff on system functionality, workflows, and self-service tools

Manage vendor relationships and support contract renewals, system upgrades, and new feature rollouts
