Are you a passionate HR professional who enjoys building programs, improving employee experiences, and bringing people initiatives to life? We're looking for an HR Specialist, Talent & Programs to join our team and support key people programs across talent acquisition, compensation, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), learning and development, and employee engagement.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys a mix of strategic project work and hands-on execution. You'll partner with leaders across the business to deliver impactful HR programs while helping ensure an exceptional employee and candidate experience. Our BC Head Office is based in Burnaby near scenic Deer Lake. Hybrid work may be available to suit business needs.

YOUR ROLE:

As HR Specialist, you will work closely with leadership and support effective program efforts of the HR function by:
  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for assigned positions, partnering with hiring managers on workforce needs, job postings, candidate assessment, and selection.
  • Support and enhance the organization's employer brand, candidate experience, and recruitment processes to attract top talent.
  • Analyze and report on talent, recruitment, compensation, and DEI metrics to identify trends and recommend continuous improvements.
  • Coordinate and administer compensation and total rewards programs, including salary benchmarking and compensation analysis, pay equity analysis, pay transparency reporting, and annual compensation planning activities.
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve learning and development programs, for managers and employees across the organization
  • Support the development and execution of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) strategies, initiatives, metrics, and employee engagement activities that foster an inclusive workplace culture.
  • Collaborate with leaders and employees across the organization to implement people programs, provide guidance on best practices, and ensure a consistent and positive employee experience.
  • As a member of the HR team, contribute to strategic HR projects and programs such as employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and organizational development efforts.


WHAT YOU BRING:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a progressive HR function, in a high-volume, fast paced work environment
  • Prior experience focused on talent acquisition, learning and development, organization design, total rewards or other HR competencies
  • Degree or certification in Human Resources, or equivalent experience
  • Comprehensive understanding of employment standards, laws and regulations in BC and Alberta
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Effective project planning skills and experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • A flexible and adaptable approach to changing priorities and business needs.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships

The salary for this position is commensurate with experience; the salary range for this position is $80,560 - $112,000 annually. The final salary for this role may vary based on several factors, including relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
