What You'll Do
HR Operations & Process Improvement
  • Oversee daily HR operations with a focus on stabilizing, standardizing, and improving processes
  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual work and implement automation and system-driven solutions
  • Build and maintain scalable workflows, SOPs, and documentation
  • Improve processes and experiences throughout the entire Employee Lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding
  • Partner cross-functionally to improve operational efficiency and consistency
Payroll & Benefits Leadership
  • Oversee end-to-end payroll processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
  • Supervise and support Payroll Specialists, providing guidance, oversight, and development
  • Oversee benefits administration, ensuring effective management of enrollments, changes, and employee support
  • Lead and mentor the Benefits Specialist to strengthen operations, accountability, and professional development
  • Own billing reconciliation, vendor management, and contract oversight
  • Continuously improve processes related to payroll and benefits administration
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Finance, benefits brokers, auditors, and vendor partners
Team Leadership
  • Lead and develop a team that includes Payroll Specialists, a Benefits Specialist, and an HR Coordinator
  • Provide coaching, direction, and performance management
  • Establish clear expectations and promote accountability and continuous improvement
  • Foster a collaborative and service-oriented team culture
Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (FLSA, ACA, ERISA, ADA, FMLA, etc.)
  • Support audits and ensure operational readiness
  • Maintain accurate and compliant employee records and HR processes
  • Identify areas of risk and implement improvements and controls
HR Systems & Data
  • Leverage HR systems to improve efficiency, data accuracy, and reporting
  • Identify opportunities to reduce reliance on spreadsheets and improve system utilization
  • Partner with internal teams and vendors to improve system functionality and integration
  • Play an integral role preparing for and participating in core system transitions
What You Bring
  • 5+ years of HR operations experience with deep expertise in payroll and benefits
  • Strong hands-on experience with UKG is required and SAP experience is preferred
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred
  • Proven ability to transform manual processes into automated, system-driven workflows
  • Experience navigating multiple systems, limited integrations, and heavy Excel usage
  • Strong knowledge of compliance (FLSA, ACA, ERISA, COBRA, etc.)
  • Experience with audits, reconciliations, and vendor management
  • Track record of building process documentation and operational structure from scratch
  • Experience supporting or preparing for HRIS implementations or transitions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
