HR Employee Relations Assistant Manager
The Employee Relations Assistant Manager supports the organization in fostering a fair, respectful, and engaging work environment. This role assists with managing employee concerns, conducting workplace investigations, coordinating disciplinary processes, supporting onboarding activities, organizing company events, and handling workers' compensation cases. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to upholding positive employee experiences and compliance with labor laws.

Employee Relations Assistant Manager Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in handling employee concerns and grievances in a timely and confidential manner.
- A specialization in labor and employment law.
- Support workplace investigations related to complaints, policy violations, and employee misconduct.
- Coordinate and document disciplinary actions in line with company policies and legal standards.
- Facilitate effective internal communication between employees and leadership.
- Participate in planning and execution of company events and employee engagement initiatives.
- Provide onboarding support to ensure smooth integration of new hires.
- Help manage workers' compensation cases, including documentation and communication with providers and insurance carriers.
- Maintain accurate records and case files related to employee relations matters.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor regulations.
- Collaborate with HR and management to support a positive work culture.
- Assist in end-to-end recruitment strategies as needed.
- Create job requisitions, review resumes and shortlist qualified candidates.
- Conduct initial phone screens and consecutive on-site interviews.
- Manage job fairs as needed.
- Prepare reports and track recruitment metrics (time-to hire and cost-per hire).
- Policy review and updates (SOP creation).
- Coordinate and Lead training and development programs for hourly and salaried associates.
- This position will oversee all aspects of HR for the VPC (Vehicle Processing Center).
- Assist with employee Leaves, as needed (FMLA, Personal)
- Facilitate new hire orientation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications for Employee Relations Assistant Manager:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 6+ years of experience in HR or employee relations preferred.
- Strong knowledge of employee relations practices and labor laws.
- Experience in conducting or supporting workplace investigations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion.
- Familiarity with onboarding processes and workers' compensation procedures is a plus.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment, including a laptop computer and cell phone. The employee is generally required to spend long periods of time sitting, typing, and working at a computer. May require the ability to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds and transport items. The estimated base salary range for the Employee Relations Assistant Manager is $86,000-90,000. The salary range information provided is in accordance with applicable state and local laws regarding salary transparency that are currently in effect and may be implemented in the future. The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that GLOVIS EA reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes, and required travel.
