HR Business Partner - Staffing and Organization Design

What is an HRBP?

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) position is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. The HRBP maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, its midrange plans, its culture and its competition. Working with the Vice President of Human Resource and business leaders they will align the human resource goals with the business unit and ensure all resources are planned for to reach their goals (e.g., recruitment and staffing, benefits, policy and procedures, etc.).

As part of the Human resources team, they would be required to be the Subject Matter Expert in one or more of the following areas: Recruiting, Benefits, Training, Employee Relations, Compensation, Performance Management

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in human resources and a Bachelor's degree in human resources, organizational psychology, finance or related field.

Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Staffing
  1. Partner with business leaders to forecast workforce needs.
  2. Develop staffing strategies aligned with business growth plans.
  3. Analyze headcount, turnover, and workforce trends.
  4. Support talent acquisition priorities, including recruiting, succession planning, and internal mobility.
  5. Ensure workforce plans balance cost, capability, and productivity objectives.

Organizational Design
  1. Assess organizational structures to improve efficiency, accountability, and scalability.
  2. Design and implement organizational changes, including restructures, mergers, and workforce realignments.
  3. Evaluate spans of control, layers, reporting relationships, and role clarity.
  4. Develop job architectures and support position management.
  5. Create business cases for organizational changes and workforce investments.

Business Partnership
  1. Advise leaders on workforce strategy and organizational effectiveness.
  2. Use workforce analytics to drive talent and structure decisions.
  3. Support change management efforts associated with organizational transformations.
  4. Ensure compliance with employment laws and internal policies during workforce changes.
  1. Performs other related duties as assigned.


Required Experience and Education
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in human resources. • Working knowledge of human resource disciplines, e.g., compensation practices, organizational development, employee relations, diversity, performance management, federal and state respective employment laws. • Bachelor's degree in human resources, organizational psychology, finance or related field (or equivalent related experience). • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred.

  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
  • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization's hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Physical and Technical Environment
  • Minimal lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally. • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, bend and stoop in a normal office environment. • Ability to routinely travel throughout multi-floor office and shop area, walking, climbing stairs, utilizing elevator.
  • Some travel required, exposure to varying environments and cultures at the job site, changing deadlines, strict time constraints. • Prolonged periods of sitting/standing at a desk and working on a computer.
