Job Summary and QualificationsThe House Physician is responsible to complete accurately and in a timely manner patient history and physical documentation and place in the medical record. Assist with patient flow from the Surgical Lobby to Pre op area as needed
Duties and Responsibilities:- Performs History and Physical Examination on all patients:
- Recognizes changes in patient's condition which indicate deterioration in status and implements appropriate actions to avoid or avert further patient compromise. Initiates or assists with basic life support when needed
- Completes History and Physical Examination within 24 hours of admission for inpatients/outpatients and prior to any patient undergoing an Operative/invasive procedure
- Defers pelvic and/or rectal examinations to the primary attending physicians
- Reports to the attending physician and abnormality that would contraindicate a (surgical) procedure of institute treatment for the patient.
- Follows Facility Policy and Procedure: Medical Staff Manual - History and Physical (s) located in the Policy Portal
- Reports findings according to age appropriate populations
- Protects patient confidentiality. All actions respect the patient's right to privacy by protecting confidential information.
- FORMTEXT Meets continuing education requirements through participation in hospital and unit education programs. Follows hospital policy for professional attire and grooming
- Uses and follows hospital and department standards pertaining to information management and quality improvement
What qualifications you will need:- Graduate of an Allopathic Medical School (US or International)
- Registered with the State of Florida Board of Medicine/licensed as House Physician
- BLS, ACLS Preferred
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- House Physician 3-5 years experience preferred
