HOSPICE CLINICAL DIRECTOR Job Description:
- Maintain knowledge of Hospiceand Palliative Care regulations, intermediary functions, accreditation standards, licensure requirements, federal and state laws in the states in which Liberty operates.
- Evaluate operations of a Liberty Hospiceand Palliative Care office using financial, clinical, and quality reports.
- Develop work plans to correct/improve office performance in conjunction with the Operations Manager and Patient Care Coordinators.
- Develop and coordinate Hospice Care Managers (Patient Care Coordinator and Operations Manager) mentoring, training and orientation programs in conjunction with the Staff Development Department.
- Coordinate in the organization, planning, development, and monitoring of new and ongoing services.
- Assist Vice President ofHome Care and Hospice Care Services.
- Work collaboratively with the Clinical Directors for Homecare.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Requires RN licensure in the states in which Liberty operates and successful completion of nursing education from an accredited school of nursing. Prefer Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or other position related field preferred.
- Minimum of three years of management experience and a minimum of two years clinical nursing experience to include specific experience in hospice services. Must be Hospice accredited within one year of hire.
- Requires in-depth knowledge of Hospice and Palliative Care regulations, accreditation standards, licensure requirements, federal and state laws in the states in which Liberty operates.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact and communicate in a professional and tactful manner with all internal and external customers.
- Must have an understanding of the principles of financial management of hospice services.
- Must possess the ability to collect and analyze data to improve clinical care, decrease cost, and improve financial outcomes.
- Must demonstrate strong problem-solving, reasoning, and critical thinking skills as well as communication (oral and written) skills.
- Must be computer-literate and have a working knowledge of a variety of computer applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, Windows).
- Must be willing to travel on a routine visit to the hospice branches for oversite; may require overnight stays. Travel 70%/Office 30%.
- Must be CPR certified.
