Position Overview

The Hospice Area Vice President, Operations - RN is responsible for the execution of the Area's strategic plan for the operations of its assigned Aveanna locations. This role manages the assigned Area's day-to-day operating activities, including driving business growth, nurse recruitment and retention, clinical and regulatory oversight, delivery of care, and customer satisfaction. This position is also responsible for managing budgeted expenses and cash collections to deliver appropriate financial results.

The Hospice Area Vice President reports to and supports the President of Operations in carrying out Aveanna's Mission and Five C's Business Plan within the established Area of responsibility.

This position requires frequent travel to various Hospice branches throughout Central and Northern Alabama and Tennessee.
Essential Job Functions
  • Responsible for creating, developing, and maintaining effective and efficient operational processes and systems aligned with the Company's business objectives.
  • Create an environment focused on continuous improvement.
  • Partner with the President of Operations to manage operations, including all clinical, financial, growth, risk, and compliance initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development of a multi-year service and solution strategy.
  • Present ongoing assessments of market trends and the competitive landscape in support of strategic initiatives and provide oversight of service delivery execution.
  • Assist in developing, attracting, and retaining a high-performing workforce.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Responsible and accountable for the financial management of the Area, including cash collections and accounts receivable management.
  • Collaborate with Executive Directors to ensure continued branch growth through expansion of new and existing referral sources and client relationships.
  • Ensure the highest quality patient care by maintaining patient care goals and standards of care.
  • Promote teamwork to accomplish common objectives and achieve measurable results while providing direction and constructive feedback.
  • Assist with the development and execution of location budgets and annual business plans.
  • Ensure all programs, policies, procedures, and practices comply with local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Current RN license in the state(s) supported by this role.
  • Experience in hospice home care services or a similar multi-site healthcare services environment preferred.
  • Professional healthcare-related credential or license within the state of practice.
  • Five years of experience in a proven leadership role with healthcare management or hospice management experience.
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently within the assigned area.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR).
