Qualifications

• Current state-specific license to practice as an occupational therapy assistant.
• Graduate of an ACOTE-accredited occupational therapy assistant program.
• Eligible for or has passed the NBCOT entry-level certification exam.
• Minimum one year of relevant occupational therapy assistant experience, or regional leader approval if less than one year.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled interventions per the physician-approved care plan and under the OT's supervision.
• Document each visit according to AOTA standards for patient records.
• Observe and report patient responses and any condition changes to the OT and medical staff.
• Supply patient and caregiver resources for ongoing ADL/IADL support.
• Encourage wellness and prevention through occupational engagement activities.
• Demonstrate knowledge of community resources and services available to patients.
• Recommend follow-up care in coordination with the admitting care center.
• Stay updated on occupational therapy trends and care coordination practices.
