Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience in battery management systems (BMS) validation.
  • Proficiency in CAN communication and CAPL scripting.
  • Strong knowledge of MATLAB and Simulink.
  • Experience with Python scripting for automated testing.
  • Familiarity with NI VeriStand for hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing.
  • Understanding of battery systems, including NTCs and ISO SPI communication.
  • Solid electrical troubleshooting skills using multimeters and oscilloscopes.

  • Develop and execute test scripts for BMS feature validation.
  • Perform fault injection testing to ensure system resilience.
  • Validate functional safety requirements on hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) systems.
  • Integrate MATLAB/Simulink models in HIL for simulations.
  • Lead HIL expansion activities for simulated battery pack support.
  • Coordinate safety requirements and space planning for testing.
  • Act as a liaison between technicians and hardware teams for harness requirements.

Full Job Description
Job/Position Summary

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute test scripts for BMS feature validation
  • Perform fault injection testing
  • Validate Functional Safety requirements on HIL
  • Integrate MATLAB/Simulink models into the HIL environment for physics based simulations on HIL
  • Lead HIL expansion activities for expanding it to additional simulated/emulated battery packs support, including:
  • Coordinating safety requirements and space planning
  • Acting as the liaison between technicians and the harness/hardware team to define hardware and harness requirements on HIL
  • Driving activities independently in a fast paced environment


Requirements:

  • CAN communication and CAPL scripting
  • MATLAB and Simulink
  • Python scripting for automated test development
  • NI VeriStand experience
  • Battery systems experience, including NTCs, cell level understanding and its interaction with cell monitoring board, and basics of ISO SPI communication
  • Diagnostics calibration and validation experience
  • Electrical troubleshooting skills (multimeter, oscilloscope, continuity checks, etc.)
  • Circuit and wiring diagram review understanding
