Job Description:The Position:Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Heavy Civil Superintendent is responsible for managing site operations, project scheduling, overseeing equipment, and maintaining safety and quality of work.
- Manage daily heavy civil construction operations including earthwork, utilities, grading, and site development.
- Lead employees on proper safety procedures and enforce compliance with OSHA and company standards.
- Partner with the Operations Manager and HR on employee relations.
- Coordinate equipment and pre-job planning to ensure appropriate resource allocation on the job site.
- Confirm foreman reported installed quantities hours from timecards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve field construction issues in collaboration with Project Management to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
- Possess a strong understanding of plans, specifications, and standard practices for heavy civil work.
- Foster relationships with Owners, General Contractors and Subcontractors
- Assist in the training of foremen and field crew personnel.
- Collaborate with Project Managers on scheduling, cost control, and change order documentation.
Requirements:- Self-directed and motivated; able to manage multiple projects.
- Prior experience as a Foreman or Superintendent preferably on heavy civil projects
- Strong knowledge of earthwork, underground utilities, grading, and site construction operations
- Strong knowledge of heavy civil equipment.
- Preferred the knowledge and previous use of
- Excellent verbal and written communication, conflict management, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
- Valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record
- Trustworthy and discreet with confidential information
